2008 Polo - Radio/Interior Light Issue

Hey, first post here and I am hoping you're the ones who can help.

I am not extremely technical, I sort of know my way around a car. Wiring should not be too much of an issue for me.

The issue I have is my mum has an 08 Polo. The original radio would stall the engine when turned on. This was replaced and worked fine for a while. However the interior light now comes on whenever she uses it. I would happily turn the light off but I wonder if there is something sinister or the wiring is just messed up. Can anyone help? Even if it's a diagram (schismatic or wiring) showing where the problem may lie??
