White 1.3 breadvan

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm pretty new the the forum, I joined after I bought my first car, A 1.3 white breadvan. I'm going to gradually modify it and clean it up when I get money and can afford to do so. Here is what it looked like when I bought it:

The car has only done 58,000 miles from new so it's in pretty good condition, the interior is absolutely mint as the car has barely been used and the seats have always had covers on them. The body work is pretty good but there are are few rust spots that need fixing:

The wing is the worst part so I'm trying to find a replacement, and the rest of it I can do myself as I used to work in a bodyshop, the only problem is I don't have a bodyshop :( so I'm going to do as best as I can with professional grade aerosols. I got a quote from a bodyshop and they wanted 800 quid! And I defiantly can't afford that.

This is what the car looks like now after a few minor mods, clear indicators, clear side repeaters, removed bump strips and de-badged grill:

I bought this brand new set of 80/80 springs and shocks for 100 quid from someone on the forum, I'll hopefully have them fitted soon:

My plans for the car are as follows:

Fix all rust patches

Paint original mirrors white

De-lock door handles and put chrome plates in them.

De-badge, de-wiper and de-lock boot

Pressed number plates

Tint tail lights red to remove orange bits and reverse light bit

Find some wheels that look good but aren't wide so I don't have to mod the rear arches

And just try get it looking mint

I'll get some pictures of the interior soon and I'll keep you all posted on any progress.

:)

It's no ones fault man, was a simple mistake, I think I can sort it but if you want to come and help your welcome to come anytime and i'll always enjoy the company, but I will warn you I've been out on the piss tonight so the chances of me waking up early are unlikely lol. But I'll text you when I get started and if you wanna come you can :)

Right so I must give a MASSIVE thank you to "BISHNEY" and "1vw2many" for offering to come to my house and help me lower my car! Took us about a day to do it but we got there in the end, i'm soo pleased with the results! And I made a couple of friends too :)

Here's some pictures of how it sits now, I still think it could go lower though! I did a few speed bump tests and I didn't even scrape!

My passenger door has a big dent down the swage line and I don't have the right tools to repair it so I bought another door from someone on the forum for a really good price that has a few small dents and rust spots that are easier to repair. I started keying it up and doing the filler work today and I got it in primer too, I just need to wet sand the primer then it's ready for paint! I'm also going to try get the best possible finish I can using professional grade aerosol spray cans.

You can't see the dent in the pictures too well but it's a lot worse than it looks:

And heres a pic of the new door (work in progress)

Yes stevo3002 I am going to use the 2 pack lacquer cans which are exactly the same as the stuff they use in spray guns only it comes from a can, I just hope I can get a nice finish with them on a large panel like a door, I think I'll do about 4 coats of lacquer then machine polish it and it should come out pretty well.

ah right..i ordered the ones in plain gloss

Could you link me to the ones you bought?

Cheers
