6n boot lock doesn't work with central locking

Hello guys and girls,

Using the key in the drivers door fires the pump and all the actuators perfectly so I dont think the problem lies there.

When I took the trim panel off and had a look it seems that the linkages to the lock itself dont line up in between the fork that is part of the boot handle which then is supposed to operate the link to the latch itself.

Is the lock barrel supposed to be in the vertical or horizontal position to work with central locking?

I can open the boot lock manually with the key but it takes several attempts with the barrel in various positions before everything lines up and releases the latch. Everything has had a good squirt of WD40 aswell.

I've had it where the boot unlocks when the doors lock and vice versa but thats the most success I've had (if you can call it that)

I also have an alarm fitted with a non responsive key fob.....(single button fob with volkswagen stamped on it thats been deactivated since I've had the car). But I'll address that once the central locking issue is resolved. I just thought I'd mention it in case it was causing a problem I wasnt aware of.

Please help as it's so frustrating. Any help would be much appreciated. Any other threads I've found on this either mysteriously rectify themselves or they are an unfinished thread.
