Poorly nipple

That got your attention.

Is this a common fault with MK2f engines?

Drove about 20 miles on Friday, turned ignition off to do a job, returned to the car and it would not idle and I had no pressure in the brakes.

My guess is that the vacuum line breaking was causing an air/pressure leak from the carb/injector unit hence why it wouldnt run at idle.

Anyway, I've got a new manifold coming in the post but I don't really want it to happen again. Is this a common fault with these cars or is it just down to the fact that it's a 22 year old car and had deteriorated over time?

Thanks :)
