My girlfriend needed a car, at first we looked at caddys, as she's always wanted one, but they're far too expensive, looked at golfs etc, more expense on insurance blah blah.

Sam then decided she wanted a breadvan, so we went to look at one, travelled 150 mile round trip, and the car was an absolute dog, so in short, we walked away and didn't return. We then saw a nice red one on ebay, bidding though, but thought we might as well pop down to eastbourne to go and view it, basically Sam wanted it there and then, so we offered the guy cash, and we did it that way. The guy we bought it from was really nice, and 'Kip' (Their name for him, which we said we'd keep' was his girlfriends car, but she got one of them baby things and no power steering was too much.

It's very good condition minus two bumps on each wing corner where bin men hit bins against them, and a bit of surface rust on the drivers doorstep/sill area. It's got full service history all the way back to 1988 and has had quite a few servicable bits lately, wheel bearings, brakes etc. So this saves me a lot of jobs!

We then travelled the 170 round trip yet again, this time with my parents on board so they could drive Kip back to his new home.

This is my dad thouroughly enjoying the drive back.

Once we got it back, we put my roof rack that was destined for my mini on it, and it can stay for a while, 1) Because it looks cool, and 2) because it was an arse to get on.

That's all for now, this isn't going to be a major build thread, just mainly keeping him running, a few interior mods, but of course, it will be lowered, probably a 60/40 drop, not sure yet, but for now on standard wheels with hub caps painted because it looks cool, and then eventually down the line, some nice 13x6 wheels will replace them.

Don't be too gutted, like I say, there are a few dents which I can't pull out, so I'm going to have to try and get under to push them out, and some surface rust that needs rubbing down/painting, but apart mechanically all good.

We're more gutted, missed out on a showroom condition one, completely standard, no marks at all, from an elderly man who passed away, that sold before we could view it, for £300!

Anyone got any ideas as to sourcing a leak that's left glovebox completely full of water? The other day I noticed the carpet had water trail marks from the bottom corner of the passenger door up to above the glovebox

rotten window frame maybe...mine was pretty rusted with minimal scabs showing outside

Managed to source the leak, was in the bulk head tray with the fuse box. Had a nice rusted hole that we covered over with fibre glass as a temporary measure and seems to have stopped water getting in. Hopefully ordering lowering springs this week, not sure to go 60/40 or 80/60?

80/60, because I know the front doesn't go down very low, realistically it'll probably be about 50/60mm, and we'll adjust the rears to match
