afk of aub head on gti block

I've seen the thread on using a afh head . But would there be any benefits using a 1.4 16 v off afk or a aub on a gti bottom end ? Would this make it a stronger bace to start from to maybe add a low boost turbo ?? Trying to think of a pikey cheap project as I already have most parts ?
