Mk1 Polo with AFH, Full Respray. Price Drop £2,499

05/07/2014 - Right, I have spotted what I want next and got it lined up so this needs to go asap. Dropped the price down and open to offers.

Also just clarification on the red Mk3 in the rolling road video. I got the AFH in there for a few months while I was finishing the bodywork and everything in the Mk1. Then, when this was ready, I gutted the Mk3 to transfer it all to the Mk1. Hope that makes sense!

I have been asked a few times about the Red Mk3 at the rolling road. It is this engine as I got the engine setup and running in the Mk3 for a few months while I finished the Mk1. So I owned both of them and just swapped it all over to Mk1.

Completely solid, no rust anywhere on it, spare wheel well, sills, inner arches, around the windows. Literally no rust.

Since then it has only done 5k miles and it has always been in a garage/underground car park

Just got back from a 10 hour round trip to Wales and back and it was perfect, has never given me any grief in the 2 years I have been running it. Only selling because I have relocated and now need an estate workhorse so I can throw bikes and stuff in the back of it. This car is just too nice to be doing that!

All of the sundries have been done like handbrake cables, oil filters, plugs etc so wont list them all!

Pretty much everything has been done so might forget but off the top of my head, here it goes:

Got a 1.4 AFH engine with CBR600 carbs

Fully setup on rolling road and have the Dyno printout showing 123bhp

Had Cambelt and water pump done before install

4-1 Manifold with a Powerflow, custom stainless exhaust with a lifetime guarantee (only 1 year old)

Brand new G40 clutch in April 13

Running a Facet fuel pump into a filterking fuel regulator

5 Speed Gearbox – both outer CVs replaced 100 miles ago

BBS wheels 2 brand new tyres and other 2 have plenty of tread

VW2 Brakes with new pads, new flexis and brand new solid lines (1 year ago)

New fuel tank and all fuel hoses

Lowered 60/40

Full respray including engine bay

Standard interior

Bad points:

Only niggles really, no actual issues.

Heater blower only blows on the interior temp

When the revs are really low and lumpy (when cold and coming off the choke too early) the exhaust manifold knocks the ARB. Either pull the choke out for a couple more seconds or let it warm up.

The interior is a bit “behind” the rest of the car, not in any way bad condition but it is the next thing I would do.
