Hi all,

I'm new to the site, well I say that I actually joined up a few weeks ago after coming across this great site. I'm the proud owner of a 1997 Polo saloon which I had no intention of buying.

Had an 04 plate Renault Megane 120dci which broke down on my 2 days before I was due to take it on a camping trip. I inquired about hiring a car for that week but with the extra cover to avoid the £700 excess I decided to buy a car last minute and hope for the best.

Picked up the Polo the evening before the trip and only had time for a quick wash and check over before taking it away for a week in Wales with my friends. Apart from a bit of a misfire it was fine and quite a nice car to drive so I decided to keep it. Had it just over a month now and so far have modified it with a set of 17 inch wheels, light tinting and a few other bits. Gave it a service and sorted the misfire. Now I'm looking to continue modifying with the intention of attending some VW shows soon. Next job is to lower it as it looks like a 4x4 right now.

Hope to have some more to report soon and may start a thread if things go to plan. Look forward to meeting some of you at meets and shows. - Dan.

Hi Jon. I'm in Handsworth Wood just outside the city centre. Looking forward to getting the car a bit more the way I want it and hoping to attend some shows and meets with it soon. Just did a full tcut and polish yesterday so its looking better. Missed out on a set of 6k lowering springs recently but hope to lower it next month.
