6n2 tdi egr delete how to.

Featured Replies

The 1.4 tdi tuning is asked a lot around here and people often over look the simple jobs which are a must before doing more serious mods. This egr delete is a must along with de cat see my other thread.

Here's a link to darkside developments where we purchased the kit. There's many other kits out there nuts these guys are at a the top of diesil tuning in the uk so I personally buy from comes as complete everything u need. http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/darkside-1-9-8v-tdi-ve-90-110-and-pd100-pd115-egr-delete-race-pipe-51mm.html

So u need to remove the old egr it bolts straight up to the intake manifold where the boost pipe is attached so remove boost pipe and move out the way. Next step will be to Soak the exhaust supply pipe fixing with wd40 there's 2 12mm nuts on the exhaust manifold then 2 5mm Allen bolts under the egr it's self now remove the 3 5mm Allen bolts to remove the egr it's self. Pull vacuum pipes off and put to one side u will need to block these later on. The kits comes with new rubber seal and bolts so now fit the egr delete tube make sure u fit the small Allen key thread into it there's a long and short supplied the long one is for use with boost gauge and the short one is for with out. Now fit the tube and refit the boost pipe using the new clamp supplied

Now fit the blank plate on the the exhaust manifold we used some exhaust paste just to ensure no leaks the kit even comes with new nuts.

U can just about make it out in that pic.

U now need to block the vacuum pipes I used a self taper screw in the smaller one with a bit of sealant and a small m6 with original clip in the lager one the cable tied em out the way.

This mod just stops the car putting hot dirty exhaust gassed into the inlet and engine just stops eve trying clogging up and a bit better performance as well. I expected this to threw an engine management light on, it has on 2.0 tdi engines I have done in the past but this small 1.4 tdi has yet to throw one up.

Is it good idea only to block exhaust manifold, without spending extra money on empty tube that is replacing EGR?

Maybe so, but it tidys the engine bay up. It isn't necessarily required, however I would happily buy the kit to smarten under the hood up.

I just bought one egr blank plate, where is best place to put plate at the end of egr or exhaust?

you are not just blanking gases you are removing restriction in inlet that's the point of the tube. If u just have a blank put it on exhuast manifold
