Yes this is the most bizarre request I have ever had to make!

Whilst i was on holiday some nice person decided to steal the shitty STEEL wheels that were on my 6N2!? leaving the car on the floor,

If i cant get to the jacking points how the heck am i supposed to get the car off the floor and back onto some wheels?

also who in their right mind would steal bent steel wheels with bald tyres!?

Can you jack from under the bonnet if you could get a decent strong point?

That way you could get it raised up off the floor onto some breezeblocks or something and jack it up as normal?

get two froends to lift from the rear or front arches and roll a trolly jack to the rear beam or arb mount or even both on one side and get the jacking point

Today in a first for CP, someone complains about their car being too low

Get a few mates round, lift it up and throw some blocks of wood/old tyres under. Or if you're struggling by yourself. Stuff the towing eye in and jack on that.

get some mates to lift it a few mm off the floor and get some closeup pics of the sills as if your car is slammed and troll a dub whore forum with them

ha ha some great suggestions on here! before i noticed the missing wheels i did think it was sitting very low! might take a front on pic and pass it off as 'epic static lows' or something :P

didnt have a lot of time to investigate it when i first noticed so will go down and look to see if i can get a jack in somewhere on the front of the chassis etc,

Hate to see what sort of damage has been done to the underside squished backbox and fuel tank i suppose

I just sold a set of good condition steel wheels with good tyres on for £40! They'd have been better off if they'd stole your radio and headrests.

One of my dad's friends had her fog lights stolen off her rav4 the other month

Its been sat up by the garages for 3 months now since i bought my caddy. no tax no MOT etc.

I've tried shifting it but nobody wants it so i was gonna start stripping it for parts when I got back from hols anyways!

vdoubleu, car doesnt have a stereo otherwise I'm sure there would have been a broken window and missing stereo as well.

Before you get wheels put back on the car see if you can tuck the wheels under the arches.

Get a picture with epic lows and camber!

A guy over on the caddy forum suggested screwing in a wheel bolt to the hub and using that to jack the car. 2 Jacks, some bricks and some wood later.....

now the problem is solved i can look back and laugh...definitely didnt want to laugh when i found it like that!

Have you used locking bolt per wheel this time?

i'm hoping it's not a personal vendetta since I don't really know anyone in the area and the carpark/garage area is shared with 24 flats...

I'm wondering how they managed to actually leave it completely on the floor? Usually they get left on bricks or something at least, otherwise how would they get their jack out from underneath after removing the last wheel?

I think they un bolted, lift and pushed off the last wheel, the gravel showed the car slid a foot or so.

The story took an unexpected turn shortly after i'd sorted the car out.....

I received a letter from the DVLA saying that someone had reported the car as being used or parked on a public highway and that they wanted 79 of my hard earned pounds. Or if I wanted to take it to court, £90 in court fees!
I personally think it is disgusting that they are allowed to use a tactic like that, essentially saying 'pay the fine or pay even more money to fight it so you might as well just pay it' RIDICULOUS

Anyways, i gathered some evidence from the management company that looks after our buildings to show that the land on which it was parked was indeed private property and sent it along with a photograph of the vehicle in said position from the day after the supposed offence.

Was this enough? oh no, not for the DVLA.

They requested that I provide evidence from the council and or highways agency to back up my claim. So i did just that and provided the same map that my management company had given me, this time with a Rushmoor Counil logo on it.

Then this morning I finally received confirmation that they were going to drop the case

Still a bit annoyed though, why did i have to do all the legwork in proving that the car was on private property, surly they should have to prove it isn't!?
