Low Mileage 52 plate Reflex Silver Lupo 1.4 16v S

Featured Replies

Advertising on behalf of my brother in law is a 2002 (52 plate from memory) 2 owner Lupo 1.4 16v S.

The car has 52k on the clock and is in fantastic condition both internally and externally but it has been laid up for around 18 months. The car originally developed a misfire which we assumed was due to a faulty coil-pack. All four were replaced and switched around but the car still had a lumpy idle and continued to misfire.

The car was then taken to two local reputable VW specialists, neither of whom could diagnose the fault. The cylinder head was removed and inspected by the second of these specialists but there was no sign of mechanical failure. The thought then turned to electrical but by that stage and a hefty nigh on £400 bill later time was called on the car and it was pulled back to its current resting place.

The garage now needs to be cleared so the car has to go. Ideal donor if you have a spare 1.4 16v engine kicking around or if you fancy installing something a little more lairy.

Shortly before the misfire developed two new tyres were fitted, new brakes were also fitted up front. Cambelt and tensioners were done (although cambelt has since been cut) and a new pedal box was fitted.

I can get photos for potential buyers but please note that it is a standard reflex silver lupo 1.4 16v, no coilovers, no alloys, but bog old standard granny kart.

The head is still split from the engine although rested on top. Any inspection welcome.

The car will need to be collected from Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

Offers in the region of £700 seems reasonable given the condition of the car and the resale value if you have a spare engine ready to drop in.
