I saw this on the Club Lupo forum and thought it would be a good idea to start a thread like this here :)

Basically all you have to do is list some cheap and easy mods for less than £10

It would be good to get some ideas and if you've done any of the mods you mention, post a picture!

ajustable intermitant wiper relay 99 - under tenner from a scrappie and straight swap on the earlier cars

Clear indicator lenses

LEd interior and number late bulbs

Leather dye to tidy up worn leather seats (providing you have leather seats already)

Bentley oil cap (mine was under a tenner )

Paint engine cover

Remove the bump strips (Free)

Paint VW badges black

Remove Polo and spec badges (6n onwards as Mk1-3 leaves holes)

Add comedy stickers from eBay

Small sheets of wrap (carbon fibre, sticker bomb etc.) for interior pieces can be had on eBay for under £10.

Remove rear wiper, just need to buy a bung for the hole it leaves.

Paint brake calipers

Anything else would really depend if you can get the parts for under £10. None standard parts as cheap as that are few and far between now.

Bought a 1.5m sheet of carbon fibre today. Going to do some of the interior trim and possibly the mirrors

Yeah it's a 6n. Used Halfords plastic primer and gloss black spray paint (any spray paint will do because the engine cover doesn't get hot). The hardest bit is sanding the texture out of the plastic and sanding the 1.0 badge down.

Still need to spray the air box cover.

Tidies the engine bay up but need a full day to do it properly.

I think removing the badges from the boot looks much better (at least on a 6n).

I took mine off and it left a few sticky marks, but after cleaning, t-cut and polishing the whole car recently you can't see it anymore.

Looks much better, especially because they used a horrid font for the Polo badges on the 6n.

Not overly, just be careful with your paint.

I used warm water and something to get in behind it. It will leave horrid marks at first though.

Also managed to find a complete 9-piece set of black seat, seatbelt and steering wheel covers for £10. Not exactly fantastic quality, but a bargain at that price

mk2 you can take apart the heater slide and put a led behind each logo so that it all lights up

So i found that one of the adhesive push lights from any pound shop makes for a decent boot light in the 86c, in the middle of the plastic cover is positioned perfectly.

not exactly the greatest mod ever, but its something :3

And to expand on the aforementioned LEDs, replace the sidelight bulbs with 13x5050 SMD LEDs (Don't use COBs)

The 86c takes T4W/233s which are less than £5 for a pair on ebay. Bit of a bitch to get them in without damaging them (as happened to me on the first try), but a MASSIVE improvement over your standard filament bulb.

I've been using SMD LED bulbs for years.

You can get the 501 style ones very cheap on eBay and they fit into the rear number plate bulbs.

Looks a lot better than the dull yellow you get from the standard bulbs.

Just be extremely careful when putting them in, I lost 6 of the chips on one because the hole in the lens is so small >.<
