Hi all,

This is my little minter that I bought last august for a steal and stored it for a year until I turned 17!

Sorry for the bad quality of photos all I have is my iPhone I don't have a camera, I must invest in one!

Here's a picture of how it looked once i had brought it back and cleaned it.

First on my agenda was to get some alloys nothing special just something to tidy the car up a bit.

Wasn't happy with the condition of the wheels so decided to respray them but instead of staying silver chose to do something a little different just to make it more unique to me.

Think they finish the car off well.

After that I thought it was time to join club polo so put my sticker on (yes i know its not straight ).

Got some LED side lights given off my mate who bought them for his Astra but they wouldn't fit need to get some headlight bulbs to match the look

Finally got round to start making my boot build over Christmas here is my thinking inside the box

Here is the false floor i have made to cover it.

Along with my 6x9's which are going to come out and I'm going to make a flat parcel shelf out of ply wood instead of the standard one.

Had nothing better to do so went out for a drive with my Dad on boxing day to a local car meet (when i say local i mean 40-50 miles away ).

Was nice to get noticed at my first meet :) Not sure who took the photos there was a couple of people kicking about with camera's I think they're pretty good photos!

Next on the list:-

Finish off the false floor, hopefully get that done either tomorrow or Tuesday

Make the new parcel shelf, not 100% sure weather to keep the 6x9's in, put some 4" co-axial's in or remove speakers all together will decide once I have made the parcel shelf.

Got some metal brackets to go in behind the rear door cards for rear speakers so need to cut the holes out of the door cards and mount some grills for them.

That should keep me busy up until the new year, will be updating soon.

Nice looking car, wheels came out good.

I'd leave the parcel shelf speakers alone all together now you've got a sub.

Been working on the car again today dont have many pictures as it got dark by the time i had finished will get some more tomorrow in day light

But for now here's a picture of my 6n2 and the girlfriends 6n which I have just recently resprayed

Today, started making the parcel shelf decided that I'm going to mount the 6x9's same as i have mounted the box

(apologies for the bad picture, it got dark again)

need to wrap everything in some black suede soon :) here is the start of my parcel shelf

haha I have some good friends who acquired me some from work :)

Not a lot has happened since my last update, ordered some more bits which should be arriving in the next few weeks

Things i have ordered have SLOWLY started coming, feels like they're taking ages! Nothing major just some lights for now.

As i said nothing special but bought a 36 LED light for my interior light certainly brightens the cock pit up a bit.

Also got some blue LED bulbs, iv'e changed the ashtray one and made the heater controls blue (couldn't get a very good picture of the heater controls)

Went for a ride out down the lake side and thought i would stop in this lay by for a quick snap.

Still to come:

I have a blanking grommet for the rear wiper, haven't yet had the balls to take it off! going to do it this week if I get chance,

Going to use a central locking motor to make a boot popper which will work of both the now redundant rear wiper switch and while iv'e got the boot lid in bits ill also run the wires through for when i finally buy a remote central locking kit.

Got some more bulbs on the way (some for the number plate lights and some for the headlight dimmer switch).

More updates when i de-wiper the boot :)

PS! Really need to buy a camera for taking my photos!

you would be surprised, my first year of driving I added coilovers onto insurance and only paid an extra tenner a month (Direct Line) and then 2nd year (Elepahnt) was only £30 extra for the year

My insurance was cheaper with coilovers. They must know you spend 80% of the time going 20mph on bad conditioned roads

sweet! Ill give them a ring tomorrow and enquire I'm with direct line I'm paying £800 for the whole year and they promised me it isn't going to change when I pass so all is good :)

Strangely enough I came home just now and thought hmm ill take a few snaps on my way in and update my thread so here you go this is what it looks like at the min I plan to wrap it in suede... when I get round to it

(please ignore the hanging wires going to get a new parcel shelf soon and the 6x9's are going! I've dropped the sub into the floor by about 2 inch so I can make a circle cover to go over it when its not in use (just so if I have things in the boot then can't damage it). Need to get some perspex to go over the amp controls then make a door so I can adjust them if I ever need to.

Finally got around to removing the rear wiper and I took the 'Polo' off my Polo

Let me know what you guys think, hopefully in a couple of weeks ill be ordering a set of pressed plates and will have passed my test got my theory on Thursday night so if I pass that will be booking my practical for as early in February as I can!

PS has anyone had any bother with there rear window the passanger side of mine has started to come away, you can push it away from the car by about 2-3 inch and its letting water into the boot!!

That's the way I was going to do my boot build. Don't think it would have turned out that nice though!

But just got used to putting stuff on the rear seat now I've wrapped a lot of my interior in 'suede' like material the glue I used was this I think (they've repackaged it)

Thanks for that mate! Will order that with the material and staple it from the back i think just to hold it a bit better, thinking of doing my headliner but cant decide how to do it yet.

Will i be able to re bond my window myself or is it a job for autoglass? How do i go about doing it, is there a guide anywhere? thanks again.

I did my headlining and it's very easy to do. The only problem I had was at the front by the A-pillers had a bit of creasing. But I did mine on a windy day and it started to rain so rushed it It's easy to get out as well.

haha i'm lucky, I have access to a garage so wont be getting bothered by any rain :p. I just cant decide what material to use i'm thinking a dark grey suede for the headliner but at the same time I fancy something different that will stand out from the rest.

Been a long time since last update but too be honest haven't done much so haven't bothered updating until this weekend....

A friend of mine has just bought a car and wanted my old sub and my 6x9's so sold him them in return for a amp and some cash

Just a temporary position for now going to mount it on the back seats when i get time (ran out of time due to short daylight hours, hence the bad pics sorry!)

so sold my 6x9's which leaves me with this :(

Going to swap my parcel shelf for my girlfriends for now, until i find a new one local and cheap

Been along time since I've had the time to sit down and update this thread!

Not alot has happened to the car really, screwed the amp to the back seats, also added some led strips (probably not to everyones taste)...

This is how it stayed for a few weeks, until today...

Bought another 6n2 earlier this week so today I've put the front fogs on my car:

Also knicked a few other bits for my car including parcel shelf so i now have a non molested parcel shelf

Seems i have the extra car I'm going to take the chance to use the bumpers and smooth them, spray them up and stick them on the car just to achieve a smoother look.

The car i have just bought is going to get stripped for bits so if anyone wants anything give me a shout most things are still there I've only taken bumpers and front fog lights:

You should have put the LED strips around the edge of the wood or under the parcel shelf supports. I say this because you should only be able to see the light from the LEDs not the actual LEDs themselves in a boot build/interior.

Yeah ill get round to it was tired of trying to ratch for stuff in my boot with them really bad boot lights i already had the leds so just slapped them in ha. Yeah its an auto :( would have fixed it and stripped mine for bits if it was a manual ha.

Serious debate now...

6 Spoke 6n2 Wheels or...

The 5 spoke 6n wheels I have hmmm decisions.

6 spokes need a respray but I'm happy enough to do that just cant decide what colour to paint them if I did respray them.

Any thoughts please help me.
