I know it's not great but what can you do what's done is done... Unless they send me another one free...

Yeah haha I was a bit gutted when I did it but it will have to do!

Sold my bbs they needed too much time and money out into them and I've bought some calibre vice instead

Ah that is a shame dude, the BBS look sweet once they're done. These mimic the rota's way too much in my opinion, and it is obvious they aren't rotas. Each to their own I suppose. But get them off the grass and on the car.

Haha yer, the bbs would be great but needed way to much work and also would have to camber my car to fit them in the arches

I had the e30 bbs on mine for a while. You would have got away with a littlre stretch and no camber. However I hear you on the work front. I bought them in similar condition to yours and with no access to a shot blaster ended up having to sand them back, many man hours consumed and the ends of my fingers were grated back to bone near enough! So the wheels on the car yet? What is the spec on those?

  • Author

Yep! New ones aren't on yet as they're are in transit should be on next week, they're 15x7 and et38 so they will fit perfectly with my calculations (hopefully)

Just gotta get my leather seats a splitter my new exhaust and a remap and I'll be done for this winter, more to come when the weather gets better though [emoji4]

Well they will certainly fit. What is the tyre spec? Depending on tyre spec and if you have any front camber they may rub slightly with your coilover. I had this issue and ended up with an egg shape inflation on the inside of the tyre. right on the sidewall.

Yer they may but nothing a 5mm spacer won't sort

You'll have to watch them rubbing on the outside of the wing then though mate. The BBS wheels for example were 7j et30, with 195 50 but also 195 45 tyres, depending on how low you are rub pretty bad.

Also, may be worth rather than buying a new exhaust modifying the one you have for better flow and reduced back pressure. The cost of a new system just is not worth the benefits and I speak from experience having had a number of different systems on my TDi. You can get the same benefits from a modified stock exhaust.

How exactly do you suggest I do my exhaust mate?

Keep the stock rims on it they look sweet.

Well it depends on how loud you want it to sound. I personally don't like the car sounding too loud as it sounds like a Chinook when you start going down the straight through route.

I will be re-doing the exhaust system I currently have on my car. Will be doing a kind of 'How-to' as well for anyone that is interested in doing the same, explaining exactly why I have done everything I have. I will forward i to you once I have done it. Will be doing it next weekend when all the parts I have ordered arrive.

I'm not looking for anything too loud but want a deep grumble if you are doing a how to as you say I'll have a look thanks mate
