I'll try and get a 1/2" if I can then. Not getting the hours I need at work so I'm strapped, to say the least.

And yeah, I'd go for 6 sided anyway...

17mm or 19mm for the sump plug. I've never torqued mine either just nip it up. Means it comes off easier next time too. You'll begin to notice that 10mm, 13mm, 17mm and 19mm are the 4 most common si

and dont buy a kit with random a/f sizes etc in it you will never use them

Could only get 3/8". Can't get the sump plug out, of course.

Just too tight? Is it 17mm? If so you might get more leverage with the standard wheel wrench, if you still have it?

It's 19mm, I've got a wheel wrench of that size but I can't get it under the car aand I'm not keen to Jack up on gravel again.

I think whoever last did an oil change just kept tightening and tightening it, because I can't get even a fraction of movement.

You need a breaker bar really. lots of leverage, no messing about.

Never mind, tried the wrench and it worked a treat. Thanks buddy :)

Looks alright, good enough to get you started anyway. Glad you got it sorted :)

It's got all the sizes I'll need for the immediate future at any rate, and it doesn't feel flimsy.

Thanks for that bit of advice, that wouldn't have occured to me!

What's the capacity of the 6n sump? I have 3.6l in my head? Going to remove the oil filter and leave it to definitely have drained for a while.

3.4l with new oil filter

Got the filter on and the dipstick is near the top, gonna start it up and check everything's tight enough once I've eaten. Managed to fix my sidelight too :)
