haha, well scrap yards will be absolutely loaded with 6n strut assemblies, could probably pick a pair up and build them up off the car and even give them a fresh lick of paint, or just buy seperate parts and keep your struts,

suppose its a good idea to have spare for just incases plus was a bit of a bargain when you compare against new lol, just looked at your thread, looks pretty exciting.

I have new koni adjustable struts for the front as well as new springs so just the tops needed.

top mounts inc. the bearings will vary, for a pair normally about 16 quid, nuts probably come with them too ( best check Eurocarparts and gsf etc or even ebay )

(1) Drill the nut off of the shaft.

(2) Drill the shaft from the top.

Got it off. In the end I used a combination of the pipe grip trick on the shaft. Followed by grinding away half the nut and using a cold chisel to tap it round. Had to replace the top plate but at least it's done. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

taking it the opposite side also went okay and you didnt need a plate? Glad to hear that you got it off and all worked out, cant beat that tecnique for good tight grip.

Yeah other side top nut was fine but I'm now stuck on the two lower hub bolts. I heated them and had a bar on them and they're do tight I picked that corner up of the axle stand and they didn't budge a bit!

I've just ordered a new set of the bolts so will get the nut splitter on them.

Yeah mate they were solid on mine too and it took several days soaking wd40 2 or 3 times a day and a lot of swearing to get them off
