Weber 32/34 DMTR carb conversion? Help

Featured Replies

I had a look at your build thread. Looks like you have the AAV engine in there. Not the NZ. I'm just going by the wiring loom and coil that I can see.

Where did you get the engine code NZ from?

I clicked on your link, fed your details into the site, and got the result that it is NOT compatible with your model, which I didn't think it would be anyway. Regards

  • Yeah, 32/34 dmtl is way too big and unsuitable for a 1litre. You probably want a single choke Weber TLA (autochoke) or TLM (manualchoke). Both very 'subtle' as used on some Polos already. Other more

It's more an assumption based on how was advertised as a 1.3 cl and the number plate search passed it on as a 1.3 cat, all sources from the information led me to the nz code and that's also the code people told me it was when I bought it which is the AAV?

The AAV is the more commonly found 1.3 engine. They are a single point injection. But still injection and different from a carb.

The NZ was fitted to some early mk2f Polos but its a bit of an oddball.

To Jacobneal8123, Sorry for making a mess of your thread.

So is everything still straight plug and play if I swap for an ABD, that's last question btw and I'm also sorry mate

Yeah it won't effect your ABD swap.
