Mk2f Indian Red Breadvan

Featured Replies

About 2 months ago I bought this breadvan mk2f in indian red. It is a 1993 and has done 43,000 genuine miles from new (only done 10,000 since 1999)

It has had 3 previous owners however 2 of them are farther and daughter. The car is very original and has had VW service history from new

I saw it for sale locally and thought it was worth a look and ended up buying it for a good price

It is a very solid car but just requires a bit of body work doing

Some pictures of when I first got it home

I love how clean and original this looks, never seen an exhaust heat shield that clean! I agree with everyone else, 60/40 would look good on this.

  • The parts arrived this afternoon so put it all back together, just need to put the fluids in tomorrow and run it up up temperature

It now has new:

Water pump

cam belt

rear drums with bearings

shoes

rebuilt callipers

shoes

brake flexis

discs

rocker gasket

oil

oil filter

coolant

Just a couple of small jobs to do before I can drive it

Debating whether to put 60/40 suspension kit on? however i don't want to ruin the originality

I think dumping it 60/40mm would be grand!

Have started doing bits of bodywork on it recently. Resprayed the wing in aerosol as there was a scrape from a previous owner, turned out alright for my first time painting a big panel

Saw this today in the flesh (albeit from a distance), paint looks amazing, and the colour of the bullet steelies goes so well.
