Finally got around to ordering a new ignition amp and well what do we know it fired up so I am so happy. In total this car so far has only cost me £60 including the price for the car [emoji3]

If that's tornado red paint it's in good nick It normally turns tornado pink.

You want to get a Haynes 1982 -1988 (or 1990?) with the hand drawn cutaway Polo on the cover and look at chapter 12 section 5

Hall sender, ignition amp and coil testing is covered.

So I thought I would remove the door card and have a look see why the passenger side window wouldn't move at all and I was greeted with this .......................

So now I need to replace the mechanism as it has been bodged with a plank of wood.... oh the joys

I thought I found some demon fixes in my breadvan but damn that plank! Lol

Sometime you just have to laugh with the bodges you find when you buy a car!

Eheh... Pretty awesome that woodish extra!

Two cable ties used, and black ones not the flimsy white ones. Looks like a reasonable quality repair to me, although I would have put a 3/4" woodscrew in top and bottom to be safe. :)

thats a side impact bar
