Polo 9n droplink issues

Okay before i start this is NOT**my ARB rubbing on the drive shaft cos i know thats a common issue. No, my problem is I've installed fk coilovers and used 160mm JOM Droplinks, its been fine for a couple of weeks but all of a sudden I've had a bad grinding noise, I knew instantly its was my ARB as i had a similar problem where the ARB had moved and was rubbing against the metal. So i put it off for couple of days and to day i tool my wheels off and the thread of the droplink that attaches to the strut has been grinding on both sides againt the inner wheelwell. I dont unserstand why this has just suddenly happened. Has anyone else had this issue? Are my drop links too short? Tomorrow I'm grinding the excess thread off the droplinks hoping that will stop it but i want to fix it properly eventually. Are the ARB bushes fucked? does that cause it to move?
