16.7 is very respectable for a na 1.3 polo! Looks good in action too. It's a wonder why everyone is doing the golf afm mod then if there hasn't been a difference. Guess the decat surely helps it somewhat though :/

I still think a chip would help you Scott.

If we make it on the 8th you could try my Yokos on the front see if that helps your times.

That would be handy. Just a couple of runs to see though. I don't want to wear out your precious rubber.

Well its been a while since my last update. I've just been enjoying it to be honest. I've been to the local drag strip a few times and been to some Club Polo meets but that's about it.

It's currently stripped down and about to go in for paint. I'm keeping it standard and black but I'm wondering wether to keep it flat black or have something with a red pearl through it or something subtle like that. Pirates black is the only nice black that pops into my head. Any suggestions would really help.

But a well presented normal glossy black car often is all you need....

Doug. The spacers you put on the GT. just the rear? What width are your alloys?  Stretched tyres or standard?  The wheels look mint

Aye, just rear spacers. 25mm. I would get 20mms though as they do catch on the arch. The 25mms would work if you roll the arch and didn't have the plastic trims.

 

The wheels are 15x6 and there is a very slight stretch with the 165/50R15s.

Time for an update I guess. Working on the polo, taking on more at work and having a child has meant this thread has suffered so I'll try and revive it as best I can.

This is a frayed accelerator cable that jammed on when I was on my way home one night in July 2015. I had to borrow one from @kwijibo_coupe whilst I waited on a new one coming from VW heritage.

Lo41 is by far the best colour

The colour I went for is actually a Land Rover colour called Barolo Black. I had a hard time settling on a colour but I'm really glad I went for that in the end. The red flake only comes out in direct sunlight so in any other weather it looks completely standard.

And now onto the 2016 Polo Show. If you've not been to a Polo Show (or Polo Social as it's now called) then I highly recommend you go along. It's really relaxed and it's a good chance to chat with people who are like minded. I spend most of the weekend hiding from the sun in the bottom of a bottle. Can't ask for much more than that.

Now, after every Polo Show I like to go on a wee adventure. Last time I went to the most southern and most northern points on the UK mainland as well as Lands End to John O' Groats. This time I went to the most Eastern and Western parts of the UK mainland. These are Ness Point in Loughborough and Ardnamuchan on the west coast of Scotland. I don't have any pictures of me getting to Ness Point at the moment because @kwijibo_coupe took them on his camera but they were nothing exciting in all honesty. Steven and I went there on the Sunday night before we set off on the Monday morning for Ardnamuchan. The Scottish arm of CP joined me on my journey to Ardnamuchan and we had a braw time. We stayed in the Erskine Bridge Hotel which had great views down the Clyde to Glasgow. We then took some brilliant (and some not so brilliant) roads out into the wilderness and reached Ardnamuchan Point. To get there we went up the side of Loch Lomond, through Glen Coe, through Fort William, past the Glenfinnan Viaduct (famous as being the bridge that the Harry Potter Train goes over) and finally over to Ardnamuchan. @citrus and I had a great blast on some of the roads but for the whole we kept together as a group and It was well worth the trip. Bear in mind, to get to Ardnamuchan from Glasgow takes 5 hours and then the journey home after that took most of us about 6 hours.

Next, some goodies arrived. I was very pleased with my new gifts to myself. @citrus (Ross) sold me his stainless Powerflow exhaust. I first heard it at the polo show in 2015 and I told him that as soon as he decides to sell it, I'm ready to buy it. It sounds fantastic with a nice wee rasp similar to classic Minis.

The next photo represents a silver lining. I went to buy a 3F GT engine in Arbroath only to find it was infact an NZ. That is the second time I've went to buy a GT engine only to discover it was an NZ. The worst bit is, it's the exact same engine that I went to see the last time, just a different seller. The guy was very apologetic and sold me his good condition GT badge. Not worth the trip but at least I got something.

Next up is my rear seat backs. Finally painted and ready to fit. I love the end result. I think the inside of the car looks a bit more premium and it doesnt encroach on rear view mirror sight at all.
