I'm sure I am not the only one who has ever been subject to this happening;

but on my casual drive home from work, a very kind gentleman thought i would much appreciate a bottle being hurled out his window.

This bottle belonging to said kind gentleman decided to aim, i assume cap first, into my 2nd replacement spot light, cracking it clean in half.

I made the decent sir aware of his actions at the next traffic lights (not knowing of any damage), and the response i acquired was,

Would you be so kind as to go away you lesser person, I really do not care.

Well as to that affect, but not so nicely worded.

Consequently I am rather f'ed off with the ignorant 'hole and have sent my dashcam footage to the local police, with the polite conversation we had at the lights and also pictures of the damage.

Damage caused :/ This is already a replacement of a replacement! Luckily I've got one left to swap over.

So has anyone else been subject to this sort of thing and had their motor damaged?

I hope that do something. Not the first time I've been hit by something, but first time it's done any noticeable damage

I hate all kinds of littering, its is just lazy and irresponsible no matter how you look at it.

I hope the police do something about the driver who threw that bottle at you, I assume you have his registration so they have no excuse not to do anything.

Of course, I use a dashcam so have full video proof

I just don't know why they can't wait to put it in the bin. I bet if I took my weekly rubbish around and posted it through their letter box they wouldn't like it!

I genuinely witnessed somebody drop a glass bottle out of a window and it smashed all over the road. Seeing as it was late at night, on the way home from work, I took the time to stop and pick up all of the idiots mess, to save other people suffering for it.

I hope the police can do something about it, it's inconsiderate and foolish.

A friend from my college who rode a bike had a fantastic way of dealing with such litter-throwers. He would keep a tin of cigarette butts on his bike and if someone threw something out of their window, he would pull up next to them at a stoplight, take one out and pretend to take a drag, then flick it through their open window and watch them panic as they thought it was lit

When I had a motorbike I was hit with a ciggy butt flicked out of a car window, went inside my helmet, fastest emergency stop I've ever done !!

I like the video of the woman on the bike who follows people who litter and throw it back through their window at them before riding off. You can just imagine their rage!

Just finished on the phone with the locals.

They picked the guy up this morning, showed him the video and he admitted it straight out apparently.

He's being charged with discharging of rubbish from a vehicle on a public highway. (Fine)

I swear down although it sounds ridiculous, I once followed a golf driving to halfords in hounslow and the person in the back must have been changing a baby and threw the nappy out the window with its contents falling out at the same time. I couldnt believe my eyes and instantly flashed and shouted at the lights to which she done a swish movement of the hand as if to say whatever

I asked the same thing, response was. "Do you want to liaise with him to gain insurance details" I'm not losing my no claims so stuff it, he's been punished for it so I'm happy I suppose

Garmin dashcam 20, I record in 1080p on it for the sake of making sure it has the best chance of picking up number plates if anything does happen.

It cost me 170 from Garmin directly but there are many around.

Had an incident in the past where luckily the driver 2 cars back had a cam so I didn't get blamed as it was a bit of a odd dispute. Has been worth having.

Also lowers your insurance with some companies

Sounds decent. My friend has one and it's came in handy a few times already!

He once had a driving instructor weaving all over the road; carrying out an emergency brake in the middle of a junction; not going when the light was green etc, so he held on his full beam for a couple of seconds (he owns a Discovery 3 with HIDs and mega spot lamps) to tell the boy to stop messing around.

The instructor got out of the car, started screaming abuse as he's walking towards my friends car whilst pointing and swearing in an aggressive manner.

My friend just smiles and points at the camera mounted on his rear view mirror.

The instructor stopped dead in his tracks, put his arms by his side and returned quietly to his car.

The worst bit about this story is that the the instructor had a learner sitting in the passenger seat whilst doing all this.

I said to my friend that he should put it on YouTube. He said "I couldn't. I didn't have my memory card in at the time!" Ha ha ha!
