thanks :) and oh the exhaust basically I bought a 4-2-1 manifold that you can see in the pics, then I just found some 1.75" or 2" old stainless steel pipe, but you can buy it on ebay new if you want, (can't quite remember the bore size) and I welded it on to the end of the manifold, then bought a universal flexi section and welded that in-between the decated section of pipe I found as my flexi was destroyed from lows :/ then joined it onto a sportex de silenced middle section which you can buy on ebay and then I found a second hand DTM back box (which are bloody expensive new) which already had the length of exhaust that goes over the rear beam and joins up to the mid section on it... which I would expect if I bought it for the full £250+ something price that it is new, but only paid £40 and it was in really good nick :)

Fair enough :P I've actually got the same mid section on order :) now just gotta get her back on the road with a new gearbox

Sorry I don't update this thing as much as I should guys! I'm a busy man atm lol anyway the trip to wales was a success :) and by that I mean It and the car was fantastic! I left my college in Bromley at around 2 ish and at about 7 or 8pm (cant remember now) I hit a road called the A5, it was dark, cold, empty and I was tired from motorways but this road soon woke me up! the twisting, winding A5 went round all sorts of mountains and valleys and the polo well outdone my expectations... the road holding and cornering speed was perfect, it gave me an enormous feeling of confidence when I almost over shot my turning and had to turn in tight at high speed and the thing stuck and went straight in effortlessly the polo chassis is quite short which makes it extremely agile, that couple with my wider stance and wheels made for a great package! not forgetting ofcourse that it weighs only about 900KG odd.... I felt accomplished that all my mods like the OMP Braces, rear 28mm H&R anti-roll bar, 21mm GTI front anti-roll bar, AP racing coilovers and 280mm brakes with braided hoses had come together to create something really sweet to drive round the fast country roads, tbh by the time I made it to my mates house I was wide awake from the adrenaline lol, the next few days I spent with him and his cousin phill who owns a nurburgring edition astra VXR as seen in the pictures, they took me to some of the best roads they knew of for some rally racing obviously the 2.0 turbo astra had me on power but when it started getting twisty he couldn't get away from the polo... he even admitted he lives there an has been driving 3 years longer then me and he could not shake it off! the pictures alone show me right up his bum at speed but with a little bit of safe braking gap ofcourse... I was so proud of the little polo not even I expected it to behave like it did especially the way it stuck to the back of a nurburgring tuned VXR and in some cases even left it behind going round certain corners... nothing better then ripping your car round bends to look in your rear view mirror to see a nice big gap that you pulled ahead in all honesty the only thing that let it down was the lack of power, I thought the GTI engine was pretty fast until that VXR just destroyed it every time there was a straight... and then when I had a go in the VXR I realised how much faster it felt! that was it then, the hunger for boost just starting eating me away ever since...

Sorry guys really been slacking with updates to this! but yeah basically I was so happy with the way the car was at this point couldn't really have asked for much more... except for power don't get me wrong the GTI was quite nippy, I hit 130 in it against a focus ST on the A13 during last years London tunnel run, but nothing quite delivers power like a turbo car of which the GTI wasn't... plus on a N/A your really limited to how much power you can gain from stock without spending huge money, happily however a mate of mine said he was selling his mk4 golf GTI and the temptation was really to much it wasn't long before I caved and bought the golf to start 1.8T'ing the polo... heres some pics of the golf the day I got it

Yeah my lecturer told me he's gonna let me do the car as part of my course to show what I can do, pretty much fills up my portfolio for the year aswell...

What course are you doing then, you have it so good being able to use those facilities doing what you want to your car AND covering your coursework lol

And how does the engine from the golf fit in? Easy enough or hard conversion?? To make it fit a pool? ?

First step of any project is to strip the doner car, so I started knocking it out, got the engine and dash out first to be honest the dashboard was surprisingly easy to take out...

No? Not at all?? With a conversation he'll need a loom, engine, ecu, immobiliser, brakes, seed dial and a new gearbox maybe even a new front drive shaft to take the torque??

It's a motor vehicle course mate, the main lecturer there basically wants to see people learning through a real passion, better then mucking about not learning anything in his eyes... aslong as I do as i'm told an stay out the way its fine but tbh I don't have it that good id rather do it in my own garage (which I don't have) because here I'm limited to the time I can work on the car, kids come over an start touching the car and I have to endlessly push it around when teachers want to use that particular ramp or area so I mostly just do it outside anyway to save constantly moving the car... and samy I got the 1.8T out the golf I bought in the pictures above, which no will not be a straight swap and not many people have turbo charged a GTI but I have seen a couple and the engine had to be completely forged, custom exhaust manifold, custom mapping and management ECT none of which is cheap and after that it didn't produce much more power then standard, with 1.8T's skies the limit, but that couldn't do much more then 2 or 300 brake as it was never built to be a turbo engine and there's not many upgrades out there to buy for it either, and btw I've already got bigger brakes along with other things that I showed a previous post

had a bit of bad luck when I checked the ko3s to find it was quite badly cracked... seeing as though there was no point putting the car back together with a cracked turbo I soon started searching for a larger ko4 setup instead :) also got the polo stripped down, engine out, dash out, loom out, and most ancillaries out aswell, basically wanted to get everything out the way so I can solely concentrate on fitting that big lump also jet washed the bay with degreaser just to make everything allot easier and cleaner to work on!
