Hey all, thought i'd throw up a build thread just so i can look back on the progress when the time comes and get some constructive criticism

so here we go.

This is the car when i first got it after a good wash. Pretty stock with 55k on the clock.

First things first was to give it a good service and sort any problems with it (their wasnt many) didnt remember to take pics at this point

Then came uprating the suspension so ordered these

So took the car to my mates garage on the weekend and started work

Removed the wishbones, antiroll bar and rear axle to make it as easy as possible.

but still was an absolute pain, pressing the factory ones out was a nightmare at

first but once we got the nack we were laughing (sort of)

Pressing the bigger ones into the wishbones we used a bench vice and a old wheel bearing

and then just knocked the metal sleeve in.

The anti roll bar sucked but we managed to get their after a couple of ideas

All fitted :)

The rears were stupidly difficult to get off we actually used a air chisel

and went round the edge to loosen it off and then knock it out

We used a homemade press thing to get the rears in and the job was done and we were happy

Next was to fit the coilovers but i noticed a missing part on one of the rears,

the bit I'm pointing to was the missing bit .

So i was super annoyed as i hoped to get all of the suspension

all sorted whilst the car was on lift, contacted the supplier and their sending out

the part ASAP which is ideal.

Much more to come so keep an eye out

Soooo I've got some shiny new parts

I personally think that the gti grilles and splitter look so much better than standard

I finally got a replacement strut with no missing pieces

so got the car one axle stands and fitted them

its not stupidly low but I'm happy with it

With the coilovers and the bushes it drives like its on rails which is great and its not to uncomfortable

So yeah thats it for the minute not sure what to do next

Any suggestions would be cool

Does any one know if this item is a genuine VW item.

It's a re-trimmed vw wheel.Didn't come from the factory like that if that's what you mean.

Ahh ok well I'm on the look out for decent oem flat bottom steering wheel thats a straight fit, if you guys could recommend any that'll be great

I don't think there is one to be honest. Could look out for a second hand momo and boss kit or something.

Plus all VAG flat bottom wheels (usually A3s etc) are about the same price as that freshly retrimmed wheel

That is a lovely polo and perhaps one of the rarest 6n2 models about if it is a genuine 100bhp version. Looks spot on lowered.

It's got rear discs so it should be I do like the OEM 100bph wheels, probably even more than the gti wheels.

Yeah i couldnt believe my luck when i bought her, I had my heart set on a 6n2 GTi but couldnt fine a decent one with low miles in my price range so settled on this and I'm glad i did

Yeah cant beat the Spa wheels need a refurb though hopefully can get that done the start of next month :)

I'm not going to lie I had to put the splitter in the bath will really warm water hoping it would expand and be more plyable even then I struggle clipping it on :)

Thats sort of good as you know its strong material lol I've managed to find a mint grill off ebay for £20 so I'm happy with that! Should have it on by middle of next week :)

UPDATE :

Right just a little update been really busy with work latly but also pretty skint as it was the girlfriends birthday but managed to pick up a GTi bootlid from one of the guys off here

So heres my plan, today I got a bit of sheet metal and welded it where the boot handle

and grinded it back ready for filler

The end goal is to cut out the bootbadge/switch from a mk5 golf and weld that into my GTi bootlid I just need to figure out how to get it to work

any advice from whoever knows how to do this would be appreciated

Just a little up date on the polo manage to get a hold of some heated colour concept seats :) which i need to wire in.

and also got some wheels for the summer months

BBS RM012s. I'm really tempted to split them and give them a good overhaul.

Looks awesome mate :) wheels will look great polished up, the seats an easy fit? Where do you get the colour concept seats? I got some Leon cupra front seats but will be a nightmare to fit. Thinking to get some red and black colour concepts

Yeah the seats are a straight swap easy enough to do with a extra pair of hands takes about half hour of you know what your doing. :)
