polo harlequin

Featured Replies

hey

I'm amy and I've just brought my 3rd 6n.

My first polo was a yellow base harlequin. I absolutely loved him to pieces but unfortunately he died when a woman smashed into the side of me claiming 'she didn't see me.'

This was my harlequin:

Then, when he got written off, I brought a black 16v.

I soon got bored of the valver, so I moved on to a green mk6 fiesta.

I still love my fiesta, but I wanted another harlequin. I didn't want an original one, I wanted to make one myself.

I brought some stuff before I brought the car, such as green hella lights, (rear, sides and fronts), a 6n2 dash, 2 multicoloured steering wheels, green seats, a spoiler and much more.

I then brought the car, a 1999 6n.

I got it home and parked it up behind my fiesta. The polos got no rust, and a sunroof so I'm really happy with it.

That's all so far, I will update as I go along

  • I only do my thread to keep track of what I've done. Don't think any one cares that I've bought a new OEM POLO badge but I do

  • fair enough, i'll guess I'll stay then :) The polo is off to a bodyshop to be completed bit by bit as I get the money, and the bodyshop owner wants to do everything on the car, including the service

  • so today we put the pistachio boot and lights on, and i'm in loveeeeeee Can't wait to get some more done :)

Good luck with this project.

Welcome to the forum :)

This looks like it's going to be nice little project car :)

Hi Amy!

See if you can find some genuine harlequin stuff too, ie wheel and gearstick :)

I've picked up two multicoloured steering wheels for it instead, and the harlequin knob is boring ahaa, so I went for a funky option x

Ah fair enough, I expect to see this looking like an exploded clown!

Think I'm gunna give up with this thread because no one's replying so it feels like I'm talking to myself.

You'll find most build threads are like that.

I'd keep it going, if nothing else it is good to look back and see how your car has changed over time.

Also as the project progresses and you add more and more photos the replies will follow.

I only do my thread to keep track of what I've done. Don't think any one cares that I've bought a new OEM POLO badge but I do

Yeah keep posting, it's always good to see how things come along!

I use my thread as more a of a blog to spew mindless bull thats mostly polo related!

Oh bte Amy, someone on either UK-polos or Club Polo facebook page were selling what looked like harlekin seats, I know you've just got those put in but though they may be of interest?

Exactly the same, I make mine purely to see what's happened over the years, and you'll always get that moment 'Ahhhh I remember doing that!!!'. It's nice.

Plus the amount of times I've lost pictures and refound them in old project threads!

Harlequins have got to be my favourite 6N, I'll own one at some point !

Keep it up and you'll have a get car

The polo is off to a bodyshop to be completed bit by bit as I get the money, and the bodyshop owner wants to do everything on the car, including the service, mot etc.

To get things moving, I put the red doors and the green wings on the car. The car now won't change until it gets moved to the bodyshop, which should hopefully be this week or next.

My friend in Germany managed to get me an original harlekin sticker that I'm so grateful for, and i had another sticker made which reads 'harlequeen'.

I'll let the pictures do the talking!
