I got this a few weeks ago, I was going to give it a chance but I've decided a Beetle really isn't the car for me - British classics are more my thing.

This Beetle has been off the road since 2007, but really it's in superb condition.

1300cc, mileage reads ~20000 but I expect that is 120000.

It has fibreglass wings fitted all round, these look to be a good fit.

The only rot I can see is on the nearside rear seam, I have pictured this. There are a couple of surface rust bubbles (the front valance has a patch) but overall the car is very presentable.

I've had it up on our 4 post and underneath is very good, it has been welded to a high standard in the past in various places, I may be wrong (you are welcome to put it up on the ramp) but it doesn't look like it will require any welding, minus the rear seam, but even then, it's very minor.

The Engine has been rebuilt in the not too distant past, there is absolutely no visible crank end float. It starts first turn of the key.

It runs well, drives, steers and stops (though pulls to the left slightly on hard braking). Gearbox and clutch seem good too.

The interior is reasonably good, the drivers seat has a burn on the backrest, and the rear bench is blue for some reason.

Now, the main issue with the car is the wiring is a bit of a mess.

Basically, the alternator doesn't charge, the indicators don't work (though both a used and brand new indicator stalk are included), the wipers don't work, and the brake lights don't work.

I don't think it will take much to pass an MOT, the wiring will need sorting for sure, and at the moment I just don't have the time or motivation for this car to do that.

I have a set of wheels for it, it's just on dollys to get it under the 4 post!
