Remap vw polo 6n2 tdi

Hi there can anyone help got myself a polo TDI 6n2 went to get it remaped Monday seems that my polo 2000 w reg. Seems to have the ECU out of an earlier modle so the remap could not work has anybody had the same problem and is it possible to change the ECU out of a 2001 or 2002 model ? If anybody can help many thanks ps i was gutted

There are two ECU's listed, depends on the chassis number as to what should be fitted


1) 045906019 control unit for diesel engine / F >> 6N-Y-650 000 / AMF

(1) 045906019AB control unit for diesel engine / F 6N-1-000 001>> / AMF

A quick look at the wiring diagrams and I can't see any difference between a 99 or 02 so I don't see why the later ECU wouldn't be OK, just remember you'll need to get it paired to your immobiliser

Hi there many thanks when I spoke to the guy who came round to remap he told me if I changed the ECU it would not talk to the fuel pump do you think that would be the case or not if its fine basicly all I need to get is an ECU from say a 2002 model and how would I go about getting it paired up to my immobiliser many thanks for your time much appreciated

Without getting the ECU paired to the immob, it will start, run for a few seconds and then stop, you need VCDS to get them re-paired

Hi there thanks for the quick response so is my best bet is to get a second hand ECU and try and find a local vw dealership really appreciate your help as I'm a bit of a novice to this cheers

You might find the guy who was going to do the remap might be able to pair the replacement ECU
