We have owned this golf since 2010 and she hasn't missed a beat.

She starts first time everytime. Only selling due to upgrading to a newer Audi A4 Avant. (Midlife crisis I hear you shout!)

I like to be as honest as I can in my description, the only times she has broken down was in 2011, when the clutch pedal snapped (common mk4 issue where weak spot welds break), and when the variable vane turbo got sooted up (cleaned using professional innotech turbo cleaner and injector cleaner)

This year she has taken us (entire family with lots of baggage and a roof box!) to Scotland isle of Arran and back, 850+ miles (and all round the island during that week), and to Bath and back, 420+ miles (in the same fortnight as Scotland trip!). Also to Clastres in France earlier this year(550+ miles), and Holland the year before.

I would happily drive this anywhere. It's a truly great family car that munches up the miles! Like I say, only selling due to being offered a newer Audi at a price I really can't refuse.

I'm a VW/VAG Group enthusiast (my wife will vouch for this!) and have been since 1998, to date this has been the most reliable car I've ever owned! (And the PD115 engine & 6 speed gearbox is in my opinion the best diesel engine/gearbox combo, unlike the newer 2.0 diesels that have had a lot of issues)
