  • It depends on what type of bbs they are. £280 is a big difference. I think you may be our most northern member. Welcome to the forum.

  • Is not proper bbs. It's lenso bsx. They just look similar, I don't have the funds for bbs haha. Thanks for the warm welcome mate :)

  • That's the wheels I'm looking at getting. That or the complete silver ones, I plan to wrap the car after winter gunmetal grey also

Well didn't have a good day today, i think the power steering pump has gone, get a horrible whining noise when turning the wheel. Going to try flush it out and put new fluid in to see if that helps. New exhaust has to go on soon as well since the one on has blown tremendously. Not having much luck at the moment. High hopes though!

Replaced my power steering fluid today and it solved my problem. Also the car got a good wash and polish. Unfortunately when I was cleaning the window inside I knocked the rear view mirror off and broke my windscreen trying to get it back on.

Having some trouble getting hold of a GTI front splitter. If anyone is selling one i would be interested :) Not much happening with the polo recently. Going to be giving some parts a respray now that its getting into summer then might think of some shows.

Would you be interested in a vr6 splitter? I believe it will fit with a bit of persuasion!

Thanks but I have found one getting posted up at the weekend :)

I am having some strange noises coming from the front passenger side when braking. It's like a knocking/clicking sound. As i brake it slows down and i can feel it through the floor, can slightly feel it as i'm driving but its very obvious when braking. Any ideas what it might be?

Went out to get a few shots of the polo today since it was a nice day. Definately think i need to get some spacers for the back, the front maybe but the back for sure. The guy I was buying the GTI splitter from has not contacted me back so I am yet to get a splitter :(

Could be a driveshaft CV joint, to check for play jack the car up and hold the rubber boot tight against the internal bearings and rock the wheel back and forth and you should feel as if something is moving too much

Thanks, its not actually as good as it looks in this photo :D need a lot of paint touched up which is a job for the summer, in fairness it needs a full respray but I'm doing it myself for the first time so doing it bit by bit.

Next problem with the polo, power steering pipes corroded and leaking :( over the pit getting looked at. Expecting it to be quite a tough job fixing image.jpeg

Did you ever sort out your noise from passenger front? I'm having to replace mine as well as gearbox internal bearings see my build thread

It actually stopped over time. Took a couple months but it doesn't do it anymore :) not really done anymore to it as it's had a few problems. Been doing odd little things to keep it running

What problems has it had? Hopefully mine should be ok even with the blowing flexi pipe that I can't be bothered to repair haha

It wasn't running properly, was chugging a lot and would randomly lose power. Later found out it was due to 3 of the spark plugs not correctly attached. They must of jumped loose because of a mixture of the rough ride and old car. Just popped them back in and hope they will stay. Will buy new leads and plugs if I have the problem again, also got the leaking power steering pipe replaced and subframe all ground down and repainted. Going to see what size spacers I need tonight and get them ordered so it sits a little nicer then helping my uncle with a mk1 escort rebuild :)
