Hi guys, its been a while, and oh boy i have done so much mods to my 6n :P, pics soon, anyways. About 2 years ago i performed a t/b cleaning, and after which, my car started idling a bit wierd, and after a year it got so much better. 2 weeks ago i bought a vag-com cable, ran vcds and found error 00533 - idle speed regulation adaptation limit surpassed. So, i cleaned my t/b once again and changed my air filter for the sake of it.

As soon as i started it boom, 2k revs and fluctuating. WTF once again!!! Now i noticed a sensor next to my t/b and as soon as i unplugged it, WHAM! it idled perfectly :0

anyways, as soon as i plug it back in, you guessed it, 2k revs and fluctuating. i tried resetting, and unplugging battery terminals, even while ignition on as i read somewhere but to no avail :/. What do you guys think? I thought it was the knock sensor that i removed but i have no idea exactly! In this pic you will see which sensor i unplugged, after which it idles perfectly, only on cold starts, i have to tap the gas a bit so more air gets in. What can i do? Is it the icv or the knock sensor which is causing the prob? Thanks guys!

First Welcome to the forum.

That black lump you have circled is the TB position sensor/idle control motor actuator, the Knock sensor is underneath the inlet manifold, on the timing belt end of the inlet manifold is the MAP/IAT sensor.

Here are the tests to carry out on the TB required for that fault code AEX TB Tests.doc Also have a close inspection of the rubber vacuum pipes attached to the inlet manifold & TB

Everything seems to be fine, this started after cleaning my t/b. Should i replace the sensor?
