There's something for everything if you look hard enough lol 1:43 is a bitch until you find the manufacturers who make the stuff, it's made to order so it's also a long wait till they arrive.

Even if I can't modify it it's cool...might stick it on the dash with some blue tack

Cheers bud never seen one as close as that yet, I feel obliged to find your car now [emoji38]

Would love to see more alex, Those Hot wheels cars look nice...loving the ghost busters one!

I really need to get me an otto Polo as well and good work on your schabak, I seen some of your collection and the tesla's you were gifted at work on your instagram.

Thanks, I'll grab some pics when the light is better. We have energy saving bulbs upstairs, so the light is terrible for taking photos.

I still can't get over the detail on the Matchbox Tesla. Pretty badass for a car priced at £1.50:

Tesla.jpg

I'm none the wiser in terms of where it came from, though. It seemed to be on a US blister pack, there was no note inside and the postmark didn't have a location. I've got a Secret Santa somewhere who has read my tweets saying I wanted one. Another editor - who I'd been talking to on Twitter, and who had said he wanted one too - got the same package. Both were addressed to our offices, not to our homes. So it's an address you can look up online.

The silver Tesla Model S, pictured here with the Chevrolet Volt, is a Hot Wheels car I bought earlier in the year:

evs.jpg

I actually have two of them. One is on a long card, which is pretty desirable apparently, so I haven't opened it. I'm not sure I can be bothered to get into selling them on eBay. But I found a red (as in primary colour red, not the metallic on the Matchbox car) Hot Wheels Tesla on a long card the other week, and I've bought that too. They're hung on pins on my noticeboard in my office. I've got no idea what I'm going to do with them.

Hot Wheels got the inferior casting with that one, I reckon. It's quite cool but it's nowhere near as nice as the Matchbox version.

Actually, the other one I've got that's interesting is this:

camaro2.jpg

It was a blag from the 2013 SEMA Show, to commemorate Chevrolet offering Hot Wheels special editions of the Camaro. It's on plastic wheels (Ecto 1 and the Transit in my original post are on two-piece wheels with rubber tyres) but it's got loads of extra detail and that cool blue chrome paintwork. I got it with a press kit at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Here's the regular Camaro for comparison:

I was going to suggest a mystery secret Santa lol your office desk looks overcrowded with cars as it is [emoji14]

Look forward to seeing some more when you get the time...hot wheels are definitley a lot better than they used to be...I actually got a free 911 in a wagon wheels promotional pack years ago and I lost it in a move...haven't found the same one yet online and it was the first model I ever had. Can't believe myself that tesla is matchbox as you say...might have to start collecting some on the side and make a hot wheels or matchbox shelf at home!

need to take more pics , got alot of others hehe

Some more...

Ecto 1A lives above the telly downstairs. Probably my favourite die cast car in the house:

hweecto1a.jpg

There's even a stretcher with proton packs on it in the back:

proton.jpg

On the other half of the same TV unit is the DeLorean from Back to the Future 2 (the road car lives upstairs usually):

deloreans.jpg

There's a switch underneath which puts it into "hover mode"

timemachine.jpg

Then up in my office, there's a load of other stuff. This lives on my desk, it's an Autoart model but it's been trashed by Jenson (my son, who seems to have inherited by taste in cars) then glued back together. It's a lovely model, it's got flocked bits on the interior to look like carpet.

gwagen.jpg

Buick "box" hi-riser, from Orlando. This was on my desk when I was at Max Power, it's in the mag a couple of times too:

buick.jpg

These are from the launch of the Mk7 Golf. So there's a Mk1, a Mk4 and a Mk7 in there:

golfs.jpg

Then these are dotted around on the shelves:

The one you lot are probably going to be most interested in is this, though:

ottog40front.jpg

ottog40rear.jpg

ottog40int.jpg

There are others dotted around the place. Like these, behind the bigger Volkswagens. A few years ago you'd get a model every time you went on a VW Group press launch, so I've got more of these up in the attic.

Killer Toyota truck, by the way. Have you seen Biff's Ford with the manure on top from the latest HW collection?

I can't believe that collection, words don't describe lol ghost busters car is the shiz...love the vipers and always had a soft spot, liking the jap stuff too..I need to get myself a 240z

That polo though...I've just sat and stared and can't believe the detail that they actually put into it. The decals, seats, steering wheel, wheels and everything. I'm pretty certain that I'm getting an otto in january for my birthday...might get the misses to get me a corrado vr6 or a mk5 r32 if they do it

Thanks! Some of them I've had for years - all of the Vipers are from the 90s. Actually, weirdly, most of what I've been buying recently are the Hot Wheels cars which are technically toys.

That Ecto 1A weighs a tonne, and it's huge. It dwarfs the DeLorean. I picked it up at Goodwood for about half the high street price and the values seem to be shooting up. Not that I'm planning to sell it, obviously. I always wanted a model of the DeLorean and Ecto 1 when I was a kid, so it feels good to tick that box eventually.

I like having unusual models, generally. I'm on the lookout for a good Land Rover Defender model, but it has to be a 2007 model with the bonnet bulge and it has to be a 90. I've got no idea where I'll put it, probably on my desk with the G Wagen. I also need an Audi Quattro and E30 M3, but the nice ones are mega, mega money. I've got a limit.

I'm also a bit specific with my requirements on models lol I want a calibra dtm car but it has to be a team joest number 6 from 1994...mainly the impact it had from Gt2 when I was a kid lol and it made me play catch up on early dtm before it was cancelled and brought back in 2000. Same with the alfa 155 that ran against it. I bought the right one on ebay a couple years back and then they refunded me and said they couldn't find it on the shelf. [emoji20]

Lately I've wanted a 1:43 mk3 golf wagon that I can buy a donor vr6 for as mad as that sounds...do the engine swap and drop it on its arse with some nice wheels. When I really think about it the brain runs wild with ideas.

Spoiler alert. I've ordered a donor corolla rally car that was cheap to steal it's bucket seats for my schabak polo...I know it's stupid but it was cheaper than buying crap seats to buy a car with good seats. For 8 quid I will have spare wheels too and might be able to modify the roll cage to fit the polo [emoji38]

this is the alloy seller, also does a few other bits

Those wheels look fantastic...I need to get into 1:18 again. It's just the space is all. I need to carefully pick a 1:18 as mine are taking up space as it is and I can't have too many of them

Recieved the corolla rally car...looked very nice to the point I almost just kept it unharmed...then I said screw it and took it apart...Bucket seats look very good and should be a nice fit.

Also recieved some 13" minilites and one was a bit damaged so I emailed the seller for a replacement, I always thought these wheels would be made to the common 1.6mm Axle and so I could cut and design my chassis to suit although the centre on the minilites is a tad tighter and the axle wont fit in. Its too tigh for my vernier to get an accurate reading too.

I'm hoping the BBS I ordered will have 1.6mm axles as I've already ordered 20PCS lol The original Axle on the schabak is a puny 0.6mm so I doubt I would get decent wheels for it and a chassis modifying is required
