MK2 Coupe S breaking

Featured Replies

Kinda breaking a Coupe S, mainly early model, quite a few parts available, mostly technical.

Small/light stuff i can post, large/heavy stuff would be collection only (Milton Keynes).

Let me know what you need, i'll give you a price for it if it's available.

Is it an early fuel tank?

You still got the clocks? :D

I assume it has a tacho instead of a clock?

Late fuel tank, got a dent in it from an axle-stand fail and plenty of surface rust around the lower part of the filler pipe. It's ten years old but not a great example. Not really worth me removing.

Clocks yes, but.. I'm not giving them away. I'd like to keep them as spares really, they go for stupid money if they can even be found, so it's a gamble for me if i sell them and then need them.. It has to be £60 posted i'm afraid.

Really sold it there Mikey but I need an early one ;)

I would go for that if you can part with them?

I'd prefer an early one too, but i can't imagine ever getting hold of one. Pretty sure they haven't been made for like twenty years.

Don't suppose you've got a picture have you? I'll PM you now :-)

Do you have the two plastic 'Polo' things that sit on the sill when you open the door?

Door cards, double lamp grille, wheels?

Prices for individual items please as money is a a bit tight currently..

Yeah, but two previous sets didn't survive being removed. More patience, a heat gun and a scraper might do it, but they're on the shell i'm keeping so i'd rather just leave them on it instead of scratching my sills trying to get them off in a reusable state.

I haven't decided on an interior yet. I prefer the grey/black '88 but it needs one new front seat squab fabric, if i find one i'll let the red/black '85 interior go, otherwise i'm storing the '88 one to replace the '85 one at a later date.

The second grille is quite badly cracked from either a stone chip or a bullet, not really in saleable condition, but worth me keeping as a spare.

Wheels are the same as the ones on your 'loon, tyres have seen better days, i think they're worth the most to me so i can chop the inner rims off and weld them to the outers of the other set to make them 7x13 without banding.

Sorry guys, i'm pretty rubbish at this breaking malarkey!

No worries, my tyres are shagged too hence asking about your wheels!

Hiya mate, have you got

rear wiper and motor,

front wings (condition?)

dash loom,

mirror adjuster knobs,

if I think of anything else ill message you back..

Cheers

Gary

Rear wiper arm and motor assembly, yes. Plus whatever the window seal bits involve.

Mirror knobs, and i'll include their little rubber gatiers.

Dash loom? There's the main loom behind the dash, this involves everything from the fuse box plugs and relays, across to the ignition barrel/stalk plugs.

Then there's a small loom inside the dash itself, for all the switchgear. This plugs into the main dash loom, so it's that lot altogether..?

I can send all that out for twenty quid, plus ten quid for the postage/packing, so thirty quid. Message me a postal address and i'll send you my PayPal addy.

No wings, though.

I'm running a G40 engine in my Coupe S, it was converted using the Mk2F loom, so its using Mk2F G40 clocks, I want to fit the original Coupe S clocks, so need the multi plug and wiring to mate the two together, as the Mk2F plug is smaller than the Coupe S, hope that makes sense.

Do you have a working carb?

Still confused about what you need - the entire 2-piece dash loom, we're good. But what plug is wrong, the one to the fuse box? Or the one that connects the two dash looms together? If the former, won't you need the engine bay loom as well..?

Do you have a working carb?

Yes, and its in excellent order, working as it should just last month - a score plus post, so 25 quid.

Could you confirm that it's a 2E3 and could you grab a pic please?

Any chance you have the coupe and S badge up for grabs?

Edited by Saint Jimi

Yes it's the correct 2E3, factory standard.

I snapped the S badge clean in half when trying to pry it from the tailgate, Jimi. It's the only one i have, i don't even know where i put it. I had another one at the old house, nfi where it went.

Just send me the whole lot as in the first message, I should have in amongst it everything to sort out my clocks. Ill inbox you the details,

Cheers
