ATS cups always a safe bet with classics in my opinion...

Or how about BBS RA's off a mk2 golf? i think they came in 14's as well as 15's, I think they will look pretty good.

Hello and welcome!

You're more than 40mm down at the back that is for sure!

Anyway finding wheels that fit on these are hard due to the design of the rear arches. Basically you're looking for something 13", 14" or 15" ET38 or as close as possible and no more than 6" wide at a push. Then obviously tyres to suit. As thin and low profile as you'll get away with really without being stupid.

I've got my toolbox in the back at the moment so it sits a fair bit lower!

Cheers for the input and suggestions!

Are your tools made of lead?

Your rear suspension isn't 40mm. The only thing i can think of is that the spring platform retaining ring is in the lowest groove of the damper. If the rear of the car is lower than the front, it tends to be unstable at speed.

I bought the car with the guy saying it was 40mm all round, after a bit of digging found the receipt, saying 60/40, would there be a chance of it being the 60mm at the rear? If so, would it be a case of swapping front and rear springs or would the diameter's mess things up?

Cheers

Most of the cheap spring and shock kits have adjustable rears. So lots of people (mainly those who don't have a clue) put the rear on the lowest setting.

If you take the rears off you'll see groves in the shock where a circlip sits. This dictates the height. So might be worth going up a notch or 2.

Still got 3 notches below, best bet still taking it up a couple? 7b53782ca559c501766d2ce3e689f91a.jpg

All sorted! Thanks for the help!

I thought I replied to this earlier...

Did you just take it up a couple notches? I'm sure the top ones are like a 40mm drop still.

Yeah, took it to the top notch! Levels everything out, with the arch lip being roughly inline with the tyre!
