When fitting a after market ecu does ABS stop working through the original ECU if it has not been pulled out.

My ABS does not work although it might not have worked before I installed megajolt.

I'm doing a rear disc conversion and and could with a decent ABS system to balance it all out.

The ABS on the 6N1 has no connections to the engine ECU On the 6N2 it is connected via the CanBus system

right so the abs is not working because the sensors need replacing. hmm

As above the ABS will work without the ecu, on the later type it will log an error as there is no ecu connection but will still function.

There will be a diagnostic wire, depending on how you have wired your mega jolt system this should still be connected to the obd port so connecting vagcom will give you the error codes.

Chances are it's the sensors, have a look on eBay there is a seller doing all 4 for around £35 so just change the lot.

You should be ok if it's just ABS

If you have traction control etc that's where issues would occur as it needs to do torque downs etc, but a basic ABS system like a 6n shouldn't need a link to engine ECU
