I bought another one!

Featured Replies

Well I clearly have issues...I've gone and bought another Polo.

Not another mk2 or mk2f though...but a 6n2. Didn't set out to go buy a Polo, just wanted to buy a cheap car so I can give the rest of my 'fleet' a bit of much needed TLC over the next few months.

Someone messaged me saying they had an old Polo going cheap so I was immediately interested, then this morning I went down a bought it :)

Here is the beast

Just a 1.4 8v E model. So it has electric door mirrors and not much else. 114k, runs spot on, 8 month MOT just needs a couple little things to tidy her up. Uses bugger all fuel, starts runs and drives and does usual car things.

I doubt I'll do anything with it hence this is not another 'build thread', just thought it would be nice to share my new weapon! Also if i do anything to it I can keep a track on here.

If I buy any more I think men in white coats will take me away I've said to myself I'm not modding it at all, I'll fix some niggling little bits but the main reason for this is to give me time to do

Plans are in place for the mk2, GT and the blue coupe. You can have the mk2...but I'm taking your breadvan

Please don't tempt me Nige, I've already been having discussions about coilovers and wheels even though I know I shouldn't

You sir. Are nuts [emoji38]

How many polo's is too many? Looks very tidy though, just try not to get carried away by slamming it and what not

How much did you bag it for if you don't mind me asking?

I've said to myself I'm not modding it at all, I'll fix some niggling little bits but the main reason for this is to give me time to do the work that needs doing on everything else. Rather than swapping between all my cars while keeping them rolling 'projects'.

Got it for 350 of my finest, which is much cheaper than any mk2f that I had also considered using for the same purpose.

Unbelievable that such a car can be bought for 350, bargain...I hope the mk2 gets some love before you give it to me for free [emoji6]

I've got a nice 4 branch manifold that'll suit that engine :)

I will try my best JC.

So how many cars do you own now then Steve??

Your neighbours must find you really annoying

Bargain for that price though, don't blame you!

You're mad.

Also, why are you after GT bits? What are you doing?!

Bangernomics, although its never as cheap when you start adding expensive parts. Where does the mk2 boost pipe feature in all of this?

Thanks Martin :)

I'm after GT bits for the mk2, that is my ideal daily driver and was pretty much until the MOT ran out in December. It needs a spot of welding to pass again. Anyway besides that I've got most of the bits for a GT injection conversion. AFM is the last piece of the puzzle which hopefully is sorted now. The wiring looms I'm after are just so I don't have to break up a G40 wiring loom I've got. But the plan is weld the mk2 up, fix the oil leak on the 1.0, stick it on GT injection and enjoy it again this year.

I know hence why I am going to avoid spending any money on this, it has 8 month MOT. If I can drive it by only spending on fuel in the next 8 months it will have done it's job.

The mk2 boost pipe is for a plan (that may or may not happen) to G40 the mk2. I have a complete conversion sitting but it will require a bit more work/time than the plan above. So it is kind of just an idea that if it happens it happens, but if I see any parts that will help me I just buy them.
