First 2016 Scottish meet

Featured Replies

I can't do this now. My mate I'm going to the party with in Edinburgh is complaining that he doesn't want to hang about on the Sunday and won't come to meet car people etc etc

Sorry lads.

Lads, if this is going ahead this Sunday I won't be able to make it. The family has plans for easter this year.

Moving up to Edinburgh in April, interested if these happen often!

I'm north of Aberdeen, the Polo is off the road but if there is anything happening in the next few months I'd take a look in the Audi

Shall we set a date in April then lads? Tomorrow looks like a no go.

Yea, it doesn't seem like many people are going to be able to make it tomorrow. I'm fine with it being in April.

How is everyone on the 17th April? There is a Ford day on at Crail that day so could be a good laugh to turn up in a heap of VWs.

There is also a Clean Scene event on at Knockhill that I was going to take the wee bready to on the 17th April.

If my GT is going then I'll be going to Crail.

There will be a lot happening on track at knockhill. Don't know if it's too late to take part in the hot hatch track sessions.

Don't know if I can make it though.

I hate to be the bore but the Ford day at Crail is always packed to capacity. You’ll get about 4 runs in if you get there early and cue all day. It’s also filled with Buckfast swigging chavs looking to nick an older car.

On the other hand I also hate anything labelled as "Scene". It basically means every car there will have split-rim BBS's tucked into the rolled arches and sitting on air because they can't live with it being low all the time. Heaven forbid somebody that uses coilovers and doesn't have as massive sticker across their back window saying "Static".

I'll go wherever the crowd decides.

God I'm getting old.

Oh god, and don't tell me; they all have "BecauseFiesta" stickers down the side of the windscreen and "I'd rather push this Fiesta than drive a Corsa" on the back.

Funny story: I once saw a Fiesta with those stickers on it in a car park, a few days later I saw a Corsa with the same stickers but obviously it said Corsa instead of Fiesta.

And stretched tyres, can't forget the stretch.

I would prefer to go to Crail and show up a few Ford boys on the drag strip even if it is just a couple runs, rather than go to Knockhill, get told my car isn't 'scene' enough by some dude in skinny jeans with a hairstyle who doesn't know what a 17mm spanner looks like then if I get on track spend the whole time letting rich kids in 800bhp Evos go past me.

Or we could just have our own meet somewhere. Been a while since we all had a good chat anyway.

Like a dating site slut, I'm down for whatever.

I'll go with the general consensus.

Netflix and Chill ;)

Crail was absolutely heaving when we were there last time! Would suggest getting their early doors if we are going there??!! (I'll probably have my daughter with me too - just not sure which car - Passat would be funny down the strip!)

Yeah Andy that VW day was mental busy!

I'm now thinking just meet up on the 17th, early afternoon get a bite to eat, some soft drinks and just have a good laugh. Crail and Knockhill days can wait.

Personally, I'd prefer if we did that, rather than Crail. Because my car on a drag strip sounds like a very slow and underwhelming experience. :lazy:

Ok, location?

I'm easy for either Aberdeen or Dundee.

I'm good with either! Dundee or Aberdeen. If i get time to sort out the GTi's exhaust i'll be in that - if not i'll be in the Passat!
