Hi everybody, Recently i've had a set of skoda felicia steels (et38 there abouts i think) with some A539s. Now i'm planning on buying a h&r cup setup this weekend but i need to decide between 35 all round or 60 40. I'm swaying towards 60 40 but struggling to find pictures of coupes with 185/60 r13 5.5. If anyone happens to have any it would really help, as would any experience using that kind of set up with cornering and full lock please and thank you.

That is a big balloon of a tyre on a small 13" wheel on a Polo. You may find you start to get scrubbing issues on full lock if you're 60mm down.

I'd personally get 175/60/13 tyres on there.

If it's only on full lock then i shal just try to be extra carefull. My main concern is cornering when i'm going up and down country roads and what not. Unfortunately they're reasonably new tyres and although i'm spending extra money for better quility suspension it's all normally done on the cheapest budget i can. Next time i might though and go for slightly lower profile too, Thanks.

I I speak of on a budget and then say i'm planning on a stage 2 at some pointn i get the impression it's more suited for road use, especially bumby country roads. Do you get any scrubbing when corning at speed? Though i'm assuming there's stiffer springs with the stage 3?

I'd say full lock would be the only time you'd have issues. I just think these Polos are better suited to smaller tyres but down to personal choice at the end of the day.

I run a stage 2 subframe and I think it is perfect for road use as well as light track use. Tightens up the front end nicely compared to standard.

Apart from the full lock then good news. Now they've been on a few months i do wish i'd bought slightly smaller tyres but oh well. At the time i wanted to ensure they'd be alright on the roads here wich are to be quite honest, crap. Thanks though, guess i'm getting some nice new suspension this weekend

i tried felicia steels on mine and they didnt want to clear my vw2's?

Was it a case of needing spacers? happen to have a set of vw2s that i planned on putting under those wheels.

No complaints with mine, but they do vary. My current Nankang are the biggest 185x60's i've ever seen and they feel it, they catch on full lock but it's not an issue. My next set will be something different, i was happy with the Falkens so possibly them again.

I use 185/60 13s on my coupe and have to run 5mm spacers on the rear as they rub on the suspension.

Also when I had them on my breadvan lowered 60/40 they scrubbed like all buggery on full lock, AFTER fitting arb blocks, it was fine before that.

I use 6n2 steels which are 6j not 5.5 though
