Scottish Convoy

Featured Replies

Since the dates have now been confirmed we can start organising the trip down :D

Same as last year, Thursday to Monday? So that would be going down on the 23rd and coming back on the 27th for us.

As always newbies are more than welcome to join us as are the guys in Northern England if you fancy going down a day early.

We usually head down the M6 and M1 I think it is so more than happy to stop at certain services along the way to meet up with anyone wanting to join us.

Yeah we always take the M6 toll, lovely bit of road and means we don't have much further to go :)

Leave it with me lads, I'll make sure we are sorted :)

I'll see if I can get the time off work this year, otherwise I'll just meet you guys down there.

Assuming I either have Dora fully repaired or the 6n doesn't explode between now and June, I'm in. I get on the M6 at j23 with the A580/East Lancs a bit before the M62. Unfortunately for me they'd made space for a services right after it but never put it to use, and it's halfway between the other services :-(

Also will we be taking the M6 toll? Only £5ish for a polo, 20 mile stretch of really nice motorway that's usually pretty quiet, great for putting your foot down and getting up to about 73mph :D

Provisionally I've got the whole 2 weeks off with the Polo Social in the middle.... Not sure what I'll be in yet!! But count me in....

I'll meet you someways along the route, I WILL have a CB this year, no reason not too  want one like Ross' with the external speaker haha

I hope you do this year Jon. The banter on the CB is great :)

Hopefully, will get one in next month or so, got few things to sort out first, hopefully the Roc will be modded slightly this time round, at least suspension and exhaust all being well

I will meet u a carlise as usuall and i need to buy CB before then

Think i'll be taking the Passat Wagon... plenty of space in the back for stuff

(Still to get a few things done before the show - Wheels, suspension, R-line front spoiler, stereo, foglights, skyline taillights - and yes that bearing Ross!)

And fit the CB!

none of you English could handle the drive up hear most of you down there will not travel more than 5mile for a meet let alone drive up hear to drive back agen ha ha

(disclaimer : this is not ment as a racist comment )

still not shore I will make it but going to try..

Did about 600 mile round trip to come last year, don't even own a Polo. Wouldn't mind doubling it to see Scotland, just not sure if I can get that long off work!

I'm in Edinburgh once a month usually 1st Tuesday but were nearly Scottish in Geordie land

I'm hoping to go to Lowestoft then over to Ardnamuchan this year after the show. Leave the show early on the Monday, over to Lowestoft then be at Ardnamuchan for early evening. Pitch a tent then head home the next day. Folk are welcome to come along but I know this won't be for everyone.

Turbo trailer towing?

@Ross, can't you build such a burner out of your gas-bottle burner?

I've got a spare mk3 towbar & I think have a pre-cut bumper in the shed..........

Was thinking about taking a blast over to Duxford again on the Friday??

This makes me sad. :( How are we going to cover billing in black soot.

I've got a spare tow bar setup and cut bumper. but mines a westfalia and involves drilling lots of holes.

I now have the big Gazebo in my possession thanks to Ross :) So we are sorted for that.

Lights are cheap enough so don't worry about that.

Just the burner to sort out, but again I have a plan....

Direct Diesel injection with turbo?
