Hi all I've been into vw for a while now had a few cars mk4 golf 20v polo 6n2 gti mk2 golf gti 8v 86 breadvan and two passat estates. We as a family with three kids have the passat estate to use and was our only car for a while as I work close to work but got board of not having something to mess with so brought this little 1.3 spi had a few problems which I'm slowly sorting. Fixed both ele windows gave it a full service and few other bits. I got some 16v bumpers cheap and clear lights and as I do bodywork set about painting to put on oh and also put some sport alloys on. So just needed to lower it so got some 60mm springs and fitted them today ride hight is just were I want it really it's a little hard but hey ho. Jobs I will be doing soon respray whole car same colour just nice and fresh again and refurb alloys or put these on not sure yet 15" deep dish Rh cups I'll update as I go thanks for looking

Cheers and yeah I think so don't catch on any bumps and no tyre scrub either not sure what it will be like with Rh cups on tho

Few updates from today took bonnet off to paint it so no more chips and dents also while it was off I gave the bay a snow foam and jet wash also while waiting for bonnet inbetween coats gave the rear lights a dark tint will be painting the roof tomorrow if weather ant to bad

Great progress

So after a week last week of two break downs one being fuel pump relay which was a nice easy fix and it happened at home so no bother. Second happened on way to work stopped at shop came out and wouldn't start after trying for ages thought Fuck it and left it in middle of road and walked to work lol. Got the misses to tow me home and bumped it on tow and kept it going got home was ticking over fine then died again and would start. Changed fuel filter cleaned plugs and checked coil all good still no joy. Then came across a obd port thought it was to old so plugged it straight into laptop and got crank sensor/hall sensor rang vw and after a while on phone he said that it had neither of them and prob a code for the dizzy so I bit the bullet and went and got one from gsf £70 came with new cap and arm fitted it and started up first time bit of fiddling to set up right and runs nice. Also got some BBS ra's and put on but didn't really like them for sale if anyone wants them but while they were on I refurbed my sport wheels put them on tonight but didn't get any pics yet

Today I managed to get the rocker cover painted makes the bay look little cleaner and also got some of the bits for my DIY induction kit hopefully get that done next week

How did the 6n2 GTi compare to the rest of the VW's you've had?

Apart from the mk2 golf gti it was the best one I've had the 6n2 gti is a rapid little car but imo it needs 6 gears

Few bits done today I managed to get an air filter housing from a mk3 golf 1.8 spi so after a bit of modifying made it fit my throttle body and with a new cone filter and breather filter looks good also managed to do a quick sub install in the boot nothing fancy just neat and tidy
