Yes but I think there is a ceiling price for each model or spec. For example you can easily plough £3k into a GT including buying it, but no one is ever going to give you that back for it.

The price of mk2's seem to change with the weather, but with the amount that pop up on Facebook for sale and also in general says to me they aren't as 'rare' as everyone thinks.

I not found a mk2 yet but then again i'm not on fb..

The price of older polos is going up because of a number of things, popularity increase and good ones are becoming less and less. Although prices are going up there are still some bargains to be had if your prepared to get your hands dirty.

There was a tidy gt coupe on gumtree recently for 600.

However as has been mentioned there are a lot of folks now who are becoming like estate agents in that they will just pluck a price out of thin air and advertise if for that in the hope that some fool comes along and parts with the cash. I see this all the time with estate agents put it on for 200k in the hope that it sells, you then see it sell but when you check after sale they never go for anything like what they wanted it's just a ploy to over inflate the market.

A few months later it was for sale for 5k after stating rare oak green.lol. in the end it never sold and got broken :( . and everyone that posted on the thread got banned lol.
