Who has Gran turismo 6?

Featured Replies

Thinking of buying a PS3 just to play GT6. I played GT5 and was impressed but annoyed also at the fact most good cars were standard and not premium quality graphics. I assume models taken from previous games and they stick out like a sore thumb. Not only that I like cockpit view when I'm using a wheel and pedals

Mainly I would like to know if they have made the R34 GTR super gt cars premium and the older supra's too. What about the GT 300 cars?

Also if they are not premium still are the graphics at least improved a bit and is there a few more new introduced gt300/500 cars in premium which were made new for GT6?

How is the career mode? Is it the same sort of structure i.e. beginner league, amateur etc and the challenges?

I also kind of like the fact that real good time needs to be put in to get to the faster and more exotic cars of the game

I realise I am asking a lot but google searches and youtube videos aren't really answering my questions and I can't find car lists which include standard/premium

Cheers, John

I've got it, but I get bored of games very quickly. It does keep me amused for a few days though. The different online challenges that change and update are pretty good, but you need to have money and lots of hours behind you to be competitive...or I'm just not that good.

I'm a fan of taking a normal car, like a Lupo or something and setting lap times then improving tyres, suspension etc. and seeing how much I can improve times before it gets to the point where more power is needed. That is a good waste of a morning

Haha yeah I like doing the same thing! In the older games I would also stick slicks on something like an rx7, weight reduction, clutch, flywheel, sport transmission for closer ratio's etc and then compete against GT300 cars etc when I couldnt afford to buy one yet.

In GT5 I was fairly good in the online challenges and I dont remember not being able to do one although GT6 may be harder.

I just hope some of the gran turismo magic is there still, do the standard graphics cars annoy you at all or are they quite alright?

I'm looking at the PS4 and Dirt Rally looks amazing, I want to buy it just so I can do a season in the Polo WRC. Then theres pikes peak in the quattro etc

Any other games you or anyone else has found better?

Nobody say Forza. Its good but I hate the fact that the leagues arent proper and cars are won based on experience gained than in specific cups and championships etc.

I have literally just complete GT2 on my samsung galaxy, much harder on a damn phone! The game is amazing for the cars they chose to be in the game. Skyline super silhouette formula being the one I want the most to make a comeback

I cant seem to get GT1 to work on my phone lol cba buying a ps1 either

Dirt 3 is one of the best games for having fun, especially just doing gymkhana

Check out this guys setup. That is heaven

Graphics have never been an issue for me as I go for the view where you don't see the car at all, I find I drive better that way.

I'm not much of a gamer so I've never tried anything else driving related other than GTA.

With the online stuff too maybe I'm just not very good. When GT5 came out me and a few work mates entered an online league that was setup via a GT forum and on that I was pretty useless. But everyone else had 100 times more hours behind the controller than I did.

If you get it though and go online give me a shout and we can play with each other..... :?

Hahaha

I will give you a shout don't worry. Might get one next week then if I have any money left

You made me order one now when you said we can play with each other. Should come next week some time. I will give you a bell when it comes bruh

Having played both Forza 4/5/6 and the respective GT games, have to say, am sticking with Forza for the time being, it was an early Forza that got me onto Xbox, was a PS gamer before that

I truly did love forza for the stuff that could be done and the mofication, just not too keen on the layout and I prefer the racing series with choice of many cars, gt300, gt300, dtm, gt2 etc

Forza is much better. I used to be solidly Xbox 360 but for the last year or two I've had a PS4 and they've so far failed to release any decent driving games for it. I picked up an Xbone recently and I've been playing Horizon 2 non stop, will probably be picking up Forza 6 at some point.

Nah boring after like 2 weeks lol. I sold my xbox one after about 6 months because I realised I had only played forza and I got bored of that so much that I didn't touch my xbox for about 4 months.

Horizon 2 is a stunning game but like them all it lacks a good structure. In 30 minutes of the game your in an f40 too but I like to graft a bit to get the cars etc

Have you a similar set up to the video posted in this thread dean? I just wouldn't want to spend the massive amounts of money it costs to have a good enough pc lol

I might get a steering wheel, shifter? Handbrake and pedals for Gran turismo and perhaps some rally games but to be used on playstation

To a degree, have to monitors not 3. I'll get a pic sorted out. It's much more fun using a set like that with a wheel but I don't take it seriously like others I get bored quickly..

  • Author

Yeah I agree, a proper set up is so much more fun. I don't think I have the space unfortunately now.

I do tend to take it very serious lol shaving milliseconds of my times etc I occasionally mess about though.

My problem is I'm not fussed by 'fast cars' haha. I'd rather kit out an Escort Cosworth or an e36 M3 and just flit about the open world map. Not that into track racing. The closest exception is Dirt Rally on the PC. That game is fantastic, better in early access than most games are on full release but it's hard. They've gone full on sim with this one.

Must admit I have done the same just tuning normal cars, just searching for the barn finds or mucking about is a big part of the fun in horizon. I was gutted when I got all the barn finds and that's when I got bored.

I'll admit lately I have mostly just been building drift cars...

That's all I did on Horizon 2 once I'd done one finale, cba with doing the amount needed to actually complete the game, I've kinda been doing the same with Forza 6, being doing similar to Failrace's silly car builds on Youtube, built a crazy mk1 golf and thrashed it round the 'Ring, if you look at my captures on the Xbox One, you'll see what happens when I try to corner at 200mph

If you guys love drifting, you wont beat LFS with a G25/7/9. www.lfs.net
