Just shows if you know where to find them, they can still be had for no added scene tax. Guarantee if that green one was owned by one of the young guys on mk1-3 Facebook group then it would have been

so anyway had a look at both cars and found the green one is pretty rotten :-( so i decided to get the black one running which proved to be a problem because of really old fuel and blocked injectors and i also found the tank leaking in the usual place. luckily the green one runs well and has a new...ish tank so i stripped the fuel system to take home to fit to the black polo.

Some decent work going on, what cam did you got for?

  • Author

Took your advice and went for a 270, should hopefully give some good gains!

If you want a hand setting the car up once the cam is in let me know.

Your so lucky to find 2 gt's like that! I've been wanting a coupe for ages now (house improvements keep getting in the way) but scene tax makes them silly money for what they are!

Yeah tell me about it, just a stroke of luck haha.

Finally got round to fitting the stage 2 Subframe and my head + 270/270 cam. what a difference they have made. still need to get a chip for all the engine mods but even without its made such a difference.

transforms the car, youll find it can take on bigger engines

hows that chip working out? you put that nova in the non polo section yet?

  • Author

Chip seems to work a treat, ignition timing could do with some fine tuning. no I never got round to it sadly, it was a friends and he ended up selling it shortly after I got the polo.
