Had the polo out yesterday and Kiran_182 came over with his and we messed about with my ignition timing, pulls so much better. Kiran also told me to give it a clean and add some more pictures so heres

So mainly been doing little maintenance bits to the polo these last few months but it's running really well, love screaming it down the local country lanes!

Just shows if you know where to find them, they can still be had for no added scene tax. Guarantee if that green one was owned by one of the young guys on mk1-3 Facebook group then it would have been

It's the HnR 60/40 kit which sits pretty well in my opinion. I'd recommend it to anyone thinking of getting it.

Fitted some handle guards to stop anyone breaking in so easily although my passenger door has already been done as seen in the pic. I will end up taking them back off for paint but wanted to see how they fit

Think Ive diagnosed the light throttle hesitation with the blue temp sensor in the thermostat housing as if I unplug it the car runs sweet so I'll try one of those first.

So I've put the gt away for the winter, needless to say I will be working on it most weekends. Still trying to sort out the lumpy running issue, changed the blue temp sensor and wiped the fault codes. It still doesn't run great, when checking measurement blocks the ignition timing is fine till you increase revs lightly then it tells me it's advancing the timing way too much, not sure what's causing this, could it be a bad dizzy or the chip? When you unplug the blue temp sensor to set the timing static it sits on 6 degree btdc which is about right. Anyone else had these issues? On another note I got hold of a 6n rocker cover and polished it up a bit, it's not the best but I'm happy with it.

I suffered from a "kangarooing" effect when my throttle body sensor went. It was intermitent and gradually got worse. Thought I might mention it as it came up on your warnings.

Also the GT uses the throttle body sensor, Air flow mass and lambada to set up air fuel mix. So having a dodgy one of those can mess up your running. As well as the blue temp sender but you have mentioned that

hope this helps

Bit of an update, Fitted a mk2 golf 16v master cylinder yesterday to help with the bigger calipers, definitely made an improvement :) also had my mot today, she passed with no advisories!

Good stuff on passing the mot. Have to have a look at doing the golf master cylinder

Lovely gt you have there.  You've done a cracking job it hit.

Here she is parked outside work. Met up with kiran_182 this weekend and had a tear up, surprisingly close between the 2 and had a blast.

Right not much of an update but the polo has been put to rest this year, not sure what to do with it yet whilst it's off the road but I'll update as I go.
