Hi all .. I came across this gt yesterday on my local pub car park .The lady driver is 80 year young and had the car from new , it has 24,000 on clock full history and service every 6 month . Body work very good condition interior mint and garaged all it life..

So before you ask I did exchange details

Wow that is quality, I remember being at my local VW dealers and they talking to me about an elderly coupe who have an old g40 in the garage......

Just love it and fingers crossed I will be the new owner one day.. it is all original and if I do get the chance to buy it that's how it will stay..

Well I did not get the phone call I was hoping for but came across the same car for sale today on ebay its at £1950 and starting bid was £100 Item number 262450622028 ..

 

Its out of my reach now and not sure I would pay £2000 for it when I can by mk2 golf with 30,000 miles for same price and I already have bready and a gt coupe and 3 beetles lol..

Does look very clean though. Certainly for me it isn't £2k clean but I'm sure it would be a lovely car to own. 

 

At least at that price it stops some young 18 year old buying it, sticking a TA 80/60 kit on it and thrashing the life out of it.

for 2k defo no teenager would buy this to chav up. Most likely a buyer that would drive it on nice weekends , maintain it,     keeping it mint and garaged

Well that's what I was going to do with it love it and clean it lol..

Got an email this week asking me if I want to buy the gt . The seller told me he pulled it off ebay at £1995 as it has been cutting out while driving it. He also said he has not time to look at the problem and want £1500 for it as it is , am going to view it this eve as he has someone from leeds coming to view it this Friday..

When you go and see it take it for a drive and see if it will cut out on you. If/when it does disconnect the lambda sensor plug and see if that cures it.

Personally I'd say £1500 is a bit much for a GT that needs work, even if it is just a £50 lambda sensor that is needed. 

Did not go as other half had to go out etc.. I was going to take my code reader with me and plug it in see what score is then take it from there etc.. then offer 600 lol

went to view gt today and seller would not shift on price he staying put with £1500 , he tells me someone is coming from leeds tomorrow at 9am to view ..I almost said yes to £1500

Yes its clean all paint work good along with no fade on black trim , could not find any rust not even in battery tray of round petrol filler neck area , inside of car is mint only wear I can see is in gear shift garter .. has toad alarm fitted working.. Lambda is the running issue ..
