When I got the bike carb manifold it looked shit with the jb weld and welders putty and when a mate of mine saw it he wanted it and chopped it up and flattend the flange until it was completely smooth

Nice work there mate, any pictures of the car in general?

That's the pics of when it was advertised on facebay.

It all looks good in a photo but the compression ratios tell a sad story.
10bar-10bar-8bar-4bar
Cylinder no.4 has a lot of surface oil on the exhaust valve stem plus I don't think the valve is seated in properly hence the 4-bar reading I got.
Cylinder no.3 I can just get away with but all check it out when the head comes off.

Apart from that everything else seems good to go :D

When I got the bike carb manifold it looked shit with the jb weld and welders putty and when a mate of mine saw it he wanted it and chopped it up and flattend the flange until it was completely smooth then tig welded T308 38mm stainless steel tubes until it looked perfect.

3rd pic was me drilling and tapping a brass nipple for Brake servo on no.1 cylinder underneath so its not in view for a cleaner look on top.

Had to make another account as I could not get through with my facebook one :/

Standard springs are on front and am waiting on new emulsion tubes for my bike carbs

GT First Ever Run :D

New Emulsion tubes are in and shes running on 145 x4 Jets, Had few problems with one of the adjustment screws falling out but I will fix this somehow.
A bit Smokey from rear so I dunno if its because its running rich still, And brake pedal travels all the way to the floor plus there's a funny rubbing noise on full throttle and alternator has intermittent wurling noise.

Fuel filter balooned and bust open as well so am running with no filter just now.

Its all progress tho :D lol (Cracking up insane laugh)

Well the good news so far is that the cylinder head gasket is leaking oil down side of the block and the coolant tank has oil in it as well, plus its like a smoke screen at back end as well, So this maybe why am not getting the carbs balanced right.

gonna have to bite the bullet and send the head of to an engineering company

Could have a similar problem myself. I had a slight oily surface in my expansion tank coolant and a bit mayo. I've been told the HG may not be gone and it could do with a good long hard drive to check for certain. I'll be doing it in a couple weeks if it hasnt gone. But I am also losing a drop of oil from somewhere...I was hoping it's from the cam oil seal or rocker cover on the Cam belt side as it's hitting the arb mount.

Good luck sorting the issues, some cracking work so far. Your mate seems handy with a tig. Not sure on that exhaust though lol

Yeah the exhaust was a bit of a diy mix match of random systems I had lying around.
polo 4 in 1 at front
6 inch straight peace from ebay
206 in the middle with some corsa c straghts for to make it longer in places
bee sting cherry bomb from e-bay at £26

Makes a nice noise tho :P :D

Sounds like some Frankenstein exhaust haha. Must have lots of joints in it, it's just the backbox which doesn't look good haha

meh... am happy with it there's no leaks on it apart from oil escaping externally and every wear else but in the engine.

I think am just gonna rebuild the engine so I know peace of mind that everything is ok internally.

Its been the head gasket causing the smoke screen at rear :(
