Check brake pad light on after repair, abs+brake cable sensor?

Featured Replies

Recently went to have my front pad and discs changed but after repair the mechanic explained that the check bpl "is still on because somebody has cut a sensor wire" something along these lines, to me this doesn't really make sense because nobody has touched the car while I've had it and the brake pad warning light only came on once they needed changing. I literally know nothing about cars. Anyway, the mechanic has explained that I need to get a front left brake pad sensor cable which has also got abs? Had a look online and couldn't find any was advised to go to local VW dealership to get one then the garage would fit it me for free.

just want a few thoughts on this and if I can be directed towards the correct cable I need as I'm a bit unsure.
