Cheap Skoda Fabia Saloon 1.9 SDI. Cheap tax, ins, awesome MPG. 12 months MOT

Skoda Fabia saloon 1.9 SDI. The car is on approx 155k. It has a whopping 63BHP, but what it lacks in sporting pedigree it makes up in reliability and fuel consumption. It has never left me stranded or let me down. Mechanically it's sound. The gearbox is nice and smooth etc. All it needed for its last MOT was an anti-roll bar bush and an adjustment of the exhaust.

The fuel consumption is great, around 550 miles to a tank. It'll even run on vegetable oil which if you shop around can be bought for around 60p a litre. Plus you get the added bonus of people looking at you like you've lost the plot pouring cooking oil into your fuel tank. I've ran a couple of tanks of 50/50 mix because I'm just to lazy to find a funnel. If you Google it a lot of people seem to do it fine without any major issues, worth doing your homework on this one.

The interior is extremely average both in terms of condition and appeal. It's all grey plastic or grey cloth. The seats for some unknown reason have cranes on them which is about the only colour and interesting part of the interior. However everything works as it should with exception to the passengers side window, I have deemed this the passengers problem not mine. Being that they travel for free I've never been inclined to fix it. The saloon version it has room for junk in its trunk, I managed to get 4 Polo GTI 15" wheels and tyres in the boot.

Exterior has been subjected to British weather for 15 years. Although I can only presume a previous owner had no spacial awareness as most of the bumps and scrapes are on the front/back/passengers side. Only major ones worth pointing out are rear passengers arch and front bumper. It does have a serious of small scratches around, but the plus point of this is that it comes with half a bottle of green T-Cut so you can spend a day bonding with the car, getting your hands all over its machine built coachwork.

I bought the car as a stop gap. It has done exactly what I needed it to do. Get me around cheaply. Tax is only £110 per year. Insurance is really cheap. Maintenence work is really cheap. Recently needed a new exhaust centre section which was £35. I put on new discs, pads, oil and oil filter. That little lot was £55. So really inexpensive to keep running. Hardly have to put fuel in it.

If you're looking for something that will make your friends/neighbours

think "wow, s/he is doing so well for themselves" maybe give it a miss. If you want a cheap car to get you about so you can spend your money else where then this is perfect.

Has a fresh MOT so you don't need to worry about that for 12 months at least.

Tow bar (don't know if the electrics work as I've never used it).

New anti-roll bar bushes
