Abd engine into mk2/f

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i I have just bought a 1993 bread van with high miles to use as a project to fit all my surplus spares to.

I have an AEX engine out of my 6n which I know is a great runner. I am looking to fit this with an adaptor on the inlet to fit the standard SPI manifold. I could use bike carbs but I'm not a fan, other option is to use the 6n injection system or even the GT injection system.

I am looking to do this with parts I already have and with minimal outlay as I don't want this to turn into a big project.

I have been reading up on this and a popular swap is the ABD which is a 1.4 and very similar to the standard AAU or AAV engines.

As it's a 1.4 it seems to me it's similar spec to the AEX engine.

I have read a few guides and many posts but I'm still not very clear on a few things.

Do I need the ABD ecu from the golf? If so does it plug in and work on the polo loom?

Do I need the larger throttle body from the golf? Do I need any thing else? Manifold linkage etc

Fuel pump, would the standard late model SPI fuel pump be okay? (Assuming it's working properly)

are there any other things I have missed?

Any help with with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
