Hey polo peeps. Just looking for a quick yes or no. Spent last weekend swapping out the suspension in my mk2 bready. What we took off was pretty much what it came out of the factory wearing! Swapped springs for eibach pro-kit, shocks for bilstein b4, oe replacement, new bump stops and top mounts. Polo actually corners now but feels a little harsh going over anything that isn't flat. And on full lock either direction something is knocking on something else. But it did do that before.  

Does the pics below look right to you guys? I'm not sure the top of the struts should be sticking up out of the turrets that much but i'm not really sure what i'm lookin for. Should the bump stops/dust covers be in a different position? Should the castle nuts be tightened up so the are down further than they are?

The top cap will stick out the turret like that when you lower it, the knocking is most likely down to the shock absorber not being a tight fit into the strut assembly.

I chased this for a while till I was told to drop a 2P coin in the strut before fitting the shock absorber, this takes up the little bit of play and eliminates the knock. Also make sure that all nuts are tight such as the castle type nut on top of the top mount and also the top cap nut, more importantly make sure that the strut cap that holds the shock absorber in is tight and you can use a pair of stilsons to get that down nice and tight, probably worth cleaning out the threads with a wire brush too

Somebody actually suggested the 2p thing before i did it. But when i lined the new shocks up next to the old ones, they looked pretty much the same size so i didn't bother. My bad. 

Top mount rubbers might not be the right ones. If they are new it's should bri that metal cap all the way down to the bodywork or near enough regardless of it being lowered as that part of the strut is not effected by the length of Spring etc. 

id expect the cap to be lower than that
