Hello all,

I have a 2002 9N 1.4 tdi sport and i have been experiencing some electrical issues chief among which are;

drivers side window switches swapping which window they operate seemingly at random (getting out locking and unlocking the car seems to cure it)

no battery warning light on dash at all, never seen it in the time i have owned the car, (battery still charges though)

pas warning light is flickering on the dash dimly (the light cycles on and off as it should at ignition turn on)

the mirror adjuster operates both mirrors at the same time

anyone got any ideas ? no fault codes logged in the ecu

First Welcome to the forum.

 

I would start by closely inspecting the wiring in the rubber flexy tube between the door and body, as this is a very common area for the wires to break or short to each other so causing all sorts of random door electrical faults.

 

If the battery warning light isn't coming on when you switch the ignition on, it's either the speedo at fault or more likely the regulator in the alternator, and with your PAS light flickering, I would say it's the regulator in the alternator

I did look at the wiring in the door shut back along, best have another look.

Would a problem with the comfort module cause some of the malfunctions ?

How do i test the alternator regulator ?

If there was a problem with the CCM it would normally throw up a fault code, but this might not be picked up by a generic code reader, you might need VCDS to get any stored codes, but my feeling is it's a wiring problem in that door flexy tube area.
